Thomas Lloyd Rager

Thomas Lloyd Rager, 84, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on November 15, 2023. He was born on May 4, 1939, in Rossiter, PA, to the late James and Elizabeth (White) Rager.

After graduating from Punxsutawney High School in 1957, Thomas proudly served in the Army from 1962 to 1964. He then dedicated over 35 years to the Carbide/Graphite Group before retiring in 2000.

Outside of his professional life, Tom had a passion for hunting, fishing, and golfing. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with family and friends. He cherished the time spent pursuing these activities.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eleanor Rager. He is also survived by his daughter Bobbie Jo Mettle, his sons Mike Rager and Tom (Robin) Rager, his grandson Richard Mettle, his granddaughter Ashley Rager, and his great-granddaughter Alysha Mettle. He is also survived by his sister, Susan (Rick) Huntsman and several nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James, Alvin, Sam, Roy, and George, and his grandson Cody Mettle.

A celebration of Thomas' life will be held on April 6, 2024, at the American Legion Post 1451 in Sanborn, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the American Legion Post 1451 in honor of Tom's memory. Thomas will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of dedication, hard work, and love for his family and hobbies will continue to inspire those who knew him.
