Thomas W. Repa, 77, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 2, 2023 after a courageous cancer fight.
Thomas was born on November 2, 1945 to Theodore and Alma Repa in Chicago, IL. Thomas was a proud patriot and honorably served in the United States Navy as a Boiler Technician from 1964-1968 aboard the USS Ogden and USS Galveston.
Thomas and his wife Patricia were childhood friends and reunited later in life and married in 1984. Thomas and Patricia have eight grandchildren.
Thomas retired from the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors after 35 years of service as an Engine Test Technician. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going to the river boat, and working bingo at the Elks Club in Des Plaines.
Thomas was predeceased by his father Theodore, his mother Alma, his brother Michael, and his sister Nancy. He is survived by his cherished wife and best friend Patricia, his children Kathy (Joseph) Wirthman, Ted Repa, Nicole Repa, Julie (Geoff) Ruble, Mary Kay (John) Betz, Debra (Michael) Bac, his grandchildren, Ryan, Riley, Aaron, Veronica, Troy, Sean, and Daniel, his brother, James Repa, and many dear cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am at St. Zachary Church, 567 W. Algonquin Rd., Des Plaines, Illinois. Interment private in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to JourneyCare Hospice, https://journeycare.org/donate/.
