Just found this. 35 years ago I worked with Tom at Cameron Summer Stock in 1982. He was responsible for plucking me from an open audition which allowed me to experience a once in a life-time summer of fantasy. I was really green and he watched over me as a big brother. Grateful. Tom I know you're taking bows in God's great hall. So Bravo ! My dear friend.

I will always remember Tom and his way of always being able to put a smile on your face! I enjoyed his acting and his comedy skits in the early days in Florence, SC. The world is a brighter place because you were in it! Your memories will live on forever. I will see you again one day! That is GOD's promise to us.

He was not only my Dentist, he was my friend. He loved to fly more than most anything else. He had a heart for people. And just a few weeks ago when I went to pick up my partials, he started telling me how to let stress go. I am a Christian & this was the first time we ever talked about letting The LORD handle what we can't. So my friend I trust to see you one day when we all get to heaven to be with OUR LORD & Savior Jesus Christ. To Helene: Love you very much & I Pray God is giving you the comfort that only He can. I will pray for you & the rest of the family. God Bless!!!

Tom I miss you so much. You were such a great care taker of our parents and I can't thank you enough for everything you did for our family. You put your life on hold for them and us and I will forever be greatful to you for that. Everyday is a struggle knowing you have left us. I know you and mom are entertaining all of heaven. Your time was so short here with us. The only comfort I have with your loss is that I know you are with mom and in such a better place than we are. I treasure my last three days I spent with you and our comversations we had together. Thank you for the good times we had throughout your life. I Love and miss you my BIG brother.

Thomas had many, many friends and they need more time to express their love and respect for Tom and his family, especially his fiance. And, reading these comments is a comfort to me, too. So, yes, I've given us all another year to tell stories about our dear friend, Tom Schuster, because "Helping others is never more rewarding than when it's in your own self interest." This news has come late to us, and we are saddened to hear it. I met Tom while shooting TV spots for a local radio station back in the early 80s - using a jell-o X! Tom embodied such imagination, humor and lust for life!!!
Many blessings to the family and all Tom's friends as we grieve. Surely the light of his life will continue to bring a smile even in memory.

My deepest sympathy to the Schuster family. I have many fond memories of Tom from the days when he was a student in my World History class ( even though other Schusters were in my Biology classes). I was so impressed with Tom's acting skills when I saw him play Stanley in the Florence Little Theater production of A Streetcar Named Desire. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

"To be, or not to be: that is the question: whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end the heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to,
'tis a consummation devoutly to be wish'd.
To die, to sleep; to sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; for in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil." W.Shakespeare

One of the greatest pleasures of my professional life has been working with & getting to know Tom. A cohort of over a dozen productions both on the stage and in film, Tom was a dear friend of over thirty years who enthusiastically embraced life and its adventures. I will miss his commitment to his beliefs, energy, humor, & zest for life. May God send comfort to his family & loved ones.

What an awesome tribute to Tom's life! I remember watching Walker, Texas Ranger one day many years ago, and looking up to see Tom on TV! I am so glad he realized some of his dream, and had so much to enjoy. While I have not seen him in years, I will always see him as a brother, and will miss him. God bless all of you as you work through the loss of such a talented passionate friend, brother, son and person. Much love to you!
