Bill's heartfelt dedication to the children in his care and the staff under his supervision will surely be an inspiration to many for years to come. May the memory of his compassion and professionalism be a source of peace at this time of sorrow. My deepest condolences to his wife, children, and his Granite House family.

Bill changed the lives of all those he came into contact with. I had the pleasure of working with him for about five years at Granite House. I can't express in words what he meant to me and to the program. I learned many lessons from him, but I think the most important one is to always let people know how you feel. My sympathy to his wife, children, family, and friends. You will be in my prayers. What a genuine, intelligent, and respectable man.

Hearing that Bill died came as a sudden surprise to me! I still cannot believe it! I am graduate of the TAP program and Granite House. Both programs have changed my life dramatically. Bill was an amazing person and I am very sadden by his death. He is one of many who have truely made my life different. To me Bill cannnot ever be spoken for and of enough. I have fond memories of him, from the skiing trips, to stories shared, to laughters laughed and to my dear heart that he has touched.

When I think of Bill this quote comes to my mind

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched, but are felt in the heart.

Hellen Keller

I am really truly sorry to all the family ( especially his wife and children) and friends of Bill. His death has left a dent in all of our hearts!

Bill will be missed by so many because he was an absolutely amazing individual. I will always remember his bright smile, great sense of humor, energy, leadership, work ethic, and devotion to helping others. For two years I was a Counselor at Granite House, and there are two memories I will always hold dear: the ski trips and his warm Goodbye speech to me last year. To his family, friends, colleagues, and clients, I am truly sorry. You are in my thoughts.

This is a tragic loss for so many… one story I would like to convey about Bill: I worked overnights for Bill at Granite House where he was the Director. One night the counselors were required to stay up the entire night during a crisis. Bill decided to get out of bed at 2 a.m. on a cold December night to relieve us and let us get some rest. This was so far above and beyond the call of duty, but it was indicative of so many selfless gestures that Bill did to help others. He was a role model and father figure to myself and so many. He can never be replaced. My thoughts and prayers go out to Janey and his beautiful children.

To Bill's Children,

You are very special kids having had a father like yours. He was a hero to many, our Country, friends, the people he worked with and kids everywhere. In a very difficult time, please take comfort knowing how much he loved both of you. Keep his memory strong and close to your hearts.

My best to you both and to your Mom. Take care.
