I´ve known Tom for half of my life. I met Tom around 1986, when I joined The Ad Center, a marketing company that advertised and promoted a photography company in the outskirts of Atlanta. I was an associate creative director/art director and Tom was an associate creative director/copywriter so we worked together from the start. He coming from a very Italian family and me coming from a very Cuban one found that we had a lot in common, particularly our love for our families. We also found out that we shared a love for fishing, so every lunch hour we would go to a pond at our office complex and fish for bass. Sometimes we caught some very often not.
We did not make much money then. Comparing salaries once, I said to Tom "hey, I´m 38 and I make $36K how about you?" And he responded "ha, I´m 36 and I make $38K!" So we decided that we would take long bathroom breaks to read the paper during work hours to make up for the low salaries ...
A couple of years later when my wife and business partner turned 30 and we threw a big party at a downtown Atlanta warehouse that we owned and Tome showed up wearing a gorilla costume to celebrate Atlanta zoo´s gorilla Willie B who was also celebrating a birthday that day!
That was Tom.
A great, loving friend, a kind hearted human, a family man, a very funny dude and an unforgettable character - you will be missed.

I sadly only got to spend a little time with him, but in that too brief time, I was most struck by Tom´s warm heart, deep voice, sweet and mischievous smile, quick wit, and wicked sense of humor. I love him, and will miss him. Sending big hugs and much love to Mary, Anthony, Joy, his grandchildren, and all of his family and friends who love him. May you rest in peace, big brother bear.
