Thomas “Tom” Bauer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2025.
Thomas "Tom" Bauer passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 43.

A lifelong resident of Oakdale, Minnesota, and graduate of Tartan High School, Tom was known for his big heart, easy smile, and deep devotion to his loved ones. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy four-wheeling in Big Falls, exploring the shores of Lake Superior, listening to music, fishing and relaxing at the family cabin in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Tom's greatest passion was supporting the kids. He could always be found rink-side, cheering them on with pride, talking hockey with anyone who'd listen, and offering a friendly nod - and sometimes a sip of peanut butter whiskey - to fellow parents and fans. His love and support for Cam, Cayden, and Caylee was unwavering; their interests became his, and their joy was his happiness.

Tom is survived by his fiancée, Ashley Sachs; children, Cam, Cayden, and Caylee; his mother, Patricia Watts; his father, John Bauer (Janet); and his brother, Steven Bauer. He is also deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Eagle Brook Church - Woodbury Campus, 11125 Eastview Road, Woodbury, MN. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with a service to follow at 6:30 PM.

A time of gathering will be held after the service. Friends are also welcome to continue celebrating Tom's life at 7:30 PM to 9:30 pm at 3rd Act Brewery, located at 4120 Radio Drive, Woodbury, MN.

Tom will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, kindness and the deep love he had for his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.
