Thomas Trainor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 20, 2025.
Thomas John Trainor, age 71, passed away peacefully on 06/06/25 surrounded by his family. Growing up in Skokie, Tom was the son of John and Jeanne (Beback) Trainor, brother to Lawrence, Janice and James.

He leaves behind his wife Susan, son Daniel (spouse Valerie), daughters Colleen Harrington (spouse Scott), and Amy Tzioumis (spouse Peter).

Tom's greatest source of joy was his family and in recent years, his five beautiful grandchildren, Violet and Weston Trainor, Dane and Beau Harrington and Leo Tzioumis. They loved "Papa" so much and he found true happiness being around them.

A Doctor of Chiropractic, he graduated from National College in 1991 and built his practice with a strong commitment to healing others. He was a true advocate for holistic health and passionate in what he believed. He loved music and singing on stage when invited. He instilled his love for music in his kids early on. One of his favorite things to do on a Sunday morning was to put everyone in the car and drive around listening to a show called "Breakfast with the Beatles" on the radio.

He had a passion for working out at the gym, loved movies, and most of all sports. He was a die hard White Sox fan and stayed loyal to them even when too painful to watch. He truly had a photographic memory and was an expert at movie and sports trivia. You could ask him anything and you knew he enjoyed the fact that he was always right.

In his later years, he struggled to hold on to new memories, but the memories he had of his family and friends stayed strong and brought him deep joy. He never forgot the people he loved and had a story for each of them. We are truly grateful to everyone who supported him and our family during that time.

He was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.
