Tom taught me how to use power tools, one of my earliest memories with him was showing me how to install a sink. Tom let me use the jigsaw that later on he gifted me. He trusted me enough to use the tool and not mess up the countertop. Tom was an example early in my life of a great work ethic. No matter how full his plate or how much he held he always had a helping hand. His family, his friends and the world at large lost one of its kindest souls with his passing. We should all strive to be more like Tom, kind caring and most of all sarcastic.
Thank you Thomas Traub

Thank you, everyone who came out yesterday to Russell's ribs to celebrate Tom. There was lots of laughter, plenty of stories, and some tears. It was the celebration Tom would've wanted, and we want to thank everyone for helping us make that happen.

I remember when Tom came over and helped me replace all the storm windows on our house, all the times he did stuff with Brandon our son, including teaching Brandon how to use power tools. Also the time Tom, Chris and Emily helped me tear up the old carpeting in our house. Thank you for all those memories and so many others, Tom you were simply the best! Take care sweet man, you were taken way too soon. Love Diane Harrigan-Kapel

In loving memory of a wonderful person. One who was a good son, father brother and friend. You life was taken short of when it restarted at a time when the family took a huge blow. We will love you and miss you always. I didn't really have time to get to know you and I have only known you as my uncle but at the same time I knew you to be helpful and have such an affectionate smile and a great impact as you always took great care and loved your family even in times when it wasn't so happy and you were stretched thin due to circumstances but you always loved everyone no matter what and no matter how hard some circumstances appeard to be. You will be missed but never forgotten.

To our beloved family,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to share the news of the passing of our dear brother-in-law. His absence leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but his memory and legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
He was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. His love for fishing was only matched by his love for helping others, and he spent countless hours doing both. Whether he was reeling in a big catch or lending a helping hand, he did it all with a smile on his face and a song in his heart.
His sweet tooth was legendary, and he could often be found indulging in his favorite candies and pies. But it was his sweetness of spirit that we will miss the most. He had a way of making everyone feel loved and included, and his positivity was infectious.
As a family man, he was unparalleled. He loved his family with every fiber of his being, and he would do anything to protect and provide for us. But his love didn't stop there - he had a heart for everyone, and he spent his life spreading joy and kindness wherever he went.
We will miss his jokes, his laughter, and his unwavering optimism. We will miss his generous spirit and his unrelenting enthusiasm. But most of all, we will miss him - our dear brother-in-law, our friend, and our family hero.
Rest in peace, Tom; Your memory will be a blessing to us all.
With love and tears,
Juan Arce

We met Tom through my next door neighbors Lynn and Juan Arce.
Tom always greeted you with a smile and a hug.
I remember we had just tore down our shed and my sons and I were moving the wood to the dumpster and Thomas was visiting next door. Thomas and Juan jumped the fence and just started helping. He was one of those guys who would give you the shirt off his back with no questions asked.
He will be missed.
Pete and I are so blessed to have known him.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Christine, Emily and Katie.

These are the last photos I took of my Uncle Thomas and thankfully he´s with my grandfather as well. I actually caught him randomly walking out at Jewel while I was walking in. We were both buying flowers on the way to celebrate my grandmothers birthday with grandpa. We both laughed and said I´ll see you over there. Truly sadden and heartbroken with the passing of my uncle.

Thomas Traub, my brother in-law. I met him first in the 1980’s, we were both young men. He loved my sister Christine and they took care of each other. I think he worked everyday of his life. I came to appreciate and respect him.
He and I got to spend time together when I bought my house. He helped me cedar the closets and paint the basement. I felt like I got to know him.
I say he was honest, kind hearted, funny, and a good christian. He was a good son, husband, father and brother. He took care of his family.
He was a good man. I am proud of him.
He is blessed.
May he rest in peace.

Tim was a great husband and cared about Chris, and loved his daughter's and his grandson Elliot. I love how open Tom was to help anyone. He was always humble and non judgemental. He would never complain about anything and kept family business out of the public. He will be missed by a lot of us.

I met Tom through my neighbor and friend, Lynn Arce, and her brother Larry. Larry has done work at my house and Tom always helped out whenever he could, and he wouldn't take a dime from me. Every job at my house was piece of cake for him, he knew how to fix anything. He was such a nice man. I am blessed to have known him. Your family is in my prayers during this difficult time.

I met Tom in July of 2023 when I started working at Rush Oak Park. He was very quick to see if I needed help or if I had any questions to just give him a call. Whenever there was a meeting or we were at lunch he always seem to make everyone smile or laugh. I being a new father and him being a new grandfather he really enjoyed talking about his grandson and I my new daughter with each other. Tom will be greatly missed and my condolences go out to his family. I am grateful that I had the privilege of meeting such a kind and fun person.
