Thomas White Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 29, 2025.
Thomas White, 81, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Born on April 2, 1944, in Lincoln, New Hampshire, Tom lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a deep love for the outdoors.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Tom served his country with honor as a Sergeant from 1966 to 1972. He was drafted into the Vietnam War and carried the discipline and resilience he learned during his service into every aspect of his life.

Tom's professional journey spanned over five decades in the construction industry. A certified crane operator and heavy equipment operator, he owned multiple companies throughout his lifetime and worked for several others during his remarkable 55-year career. His passion for construction was evident in everything he did-he thrived on job sites and was known for his perfectionist attitude. Whether operating machinery or managing projects, Tom brought dedication and precision to every task. His love for being outdoors made even the toughest days on site enjoyable.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was a man who found joy in helping others. He was always ready to lend a hand to those in need, embodying a spirit of generosity that touched many lives.

Tom's greatest pride came from his family. He is lovingly remembered by his two sons, Thomas Todd and Ryan White; and his cherished grandchildren, Morgan and Hunter White. He delighted in watching them grow up and took immense joy in traveling far and wide to support them at ski races, soccer matches, basketball games, baseball diamonds, and softball fields. Whether cheering from the sidelines or offering words of encouragement after a game, Tom's presence was a constant source of strength and pride for his family.

He also found happiness in the simple pleasures of life fishing along quiet riversides, hunting through New England woods, racing down snowy trails on snowmobiles, exploring new places through travel, and enjoying the thrill of motor racing. These hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for nature.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Peter White and Lillian Theriault; his sisters Nancy LaFrance and Betty Ann; and his brother Robert White. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life.

A man of integrity and heart, Tom leaves behind a legacy rooted in hard work, loyalty, and love for family. His memory will live on through those who knew him best-his children, grandchildren, friends, colleagues from the job sites he helped build across decades-and all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.

May Thomas White's memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspiration to all who remember him.
