Thomas Zeppelin Obituary

Thomas E. Zeppelin of San Antonio, TX, age 71 died Saturday, July 21, 2001. He served in the United States Marine Corps with duty at 8th and I in Washington, D.C. and later in the Korean War. He was a member of the Chosin Few. After completing his military service Tom graduated from Michigan State University. He retired in 1994 from Gulf States Manufacturing in Starkville, MS. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio and very active in the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Erma Zeppelin. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Jan) of San Antonio; daughter Jennifer Zeppelin Berscheidt and her husband Jim, Broomfield, CO; son, Deron E. Zeppelin and his wife Kristin of Alexandria, VA; and other family members and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Monday, July 23, 2001 at Porter Loring Mortuary North from 6:00 9:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations on behalf of Tom Zeppelin can be made to the American Cancer Society at 8115 Datapoint Dr., San Antonio, TX 78229 or at www.cancer.org or to Bethphage (serving people with developmental disabilities) Jim Berscheidt c/o Bethphage 5205 S. College, Fort Collins, CO 80525. SERVICE TUESDAY 10:00 A.M. CONCORDIA LUTHERAN CHURCH with Pastor David Ebs to officiate. Interment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Danville, IL, July 25, 2001.
