Wallace Barber, Jr. age 67, of Knoxville, passed away on May 3, 2017. A member of Portland Street Church. Preceded in death by parents, Wallace and Ruth Barber; brother, Jimmy Barber; sister, Elizabeth Hines. Survivors include son, Jason Barber (Tammy); daughter, Christine Barber (Mark Howley); step son, Bobby Emmert (April); ex-wife, Carol Barber; grandchildren, Christian Harris, Autumn Harris, Joel Howley, Natalie Barber and Alanna Harris; step granddaughter, Rachel Emmert; great grandchild, Mason Blair; brother, Ray Barber (Geraldine); sister, Judy Hammond; sister, Marilyn Cobble; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Friday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. The funeral to follow with Rev. Frank Sellers officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 2 pm at New Gray Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.berrylynnhurst.com

My friend John Giffin (who lives in Knoxville) informed me of the passing of a childhood friend that we both knew as "Butch Barber". We were teenagers and met at The Salvation Army Church in Knoxville....the one that was on Elm Street. We had a lot of good fun. Prayers for the families affected with his passing.
