Tim Naylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2025.
Tim Robinson Naylor Tim Naylor, 57, of Taos, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Born on May 23, 1967, Tim grew up on a family farm in Waterville, Vermont. He developed an early love for nature and adventure alongside his siblings, Andrew and Robin Naylor.

Tim's passion for life was evident in his many pursuits. Whether skiing, mountain or dirt biking, or climbing, he did them with talent, bravery, and determination. These were not merely hobbies but reflections of his adventurous spirit and deep connection with the outdoors.

His love for skiing drew him to the Rocky Mountains and the love of his life, Melissa R. Naylor. The two married in 1996 and spent over two decades building a life filled with shared passions and devotion to their children, Meridian and Grayson. In 2016, Melissa tragically passed away at the age of 46, creating a void that exists to this day.

Tim leaned into fatherhood with love and patience, a role he cherished above all. Meridian and Grayson brought him profound joy, and he took great pride in their accomplishments. Despite the devastating loss of both parents, Grayson and Meridian persevere in life with strength and tenacity, comforted by their parents' unwavering love. Tim's legacy lives on through his grandsons, Owen Joe and Crew Robinson, sons of Meridian and her husband Jonathon.

In 2022, Tim found renewed happiness when he married Chessa "Bella" Jones. Together, they embraced life with open hearts, sharing laughter, adventures, and a deep love for each other and their beloved dogs. Their time together was marked by joy and transcending connection.

Tim was a gifted finish carpenter and a dedicated member of IATSE Local 480 for many years in New Mexico's film industry. And beyond that, he could fix pretty much anything. Those who knew Tim will remember him as a man of kindness and quiet strength. His warm smile could brighten any room, his loyalty to friends and family was unwavering, and his humor was infectious.

Though gone too soon from this world he loved so deeply, Tim's spirit lives on in the mountains he climbed, the trails he blazed, and the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. May his memory comfort those who mourn him now while inspiring them always to seek joy in life's great adventures.

Tim's life will be celebrated this spring at his family home in Taos, date TBD. Chessa will host an additional celebration for their many friends and loved ones in Salt Lake City, date TBD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to support safe water initiatives-a cause reflective of Tim's enduring care for others at The Water Project (501c3, nonprofit). https://thewaterproject.org/. Timmy was my 1st real climbing partner years ago! We both started climbing near the same time and we are the same age and we had lots in common . Our partnership brought so many crazy times and allowed to dream so big! I will miss our adventures and I will miss my friend.

I met him at a restaurant in Breckinridge CO on his 24th birthday (early 1994?) and because they were both penniless at the time Melissa made me buy dinner?! Within a year they were married and had my beautiful granddaughter Meridian! Rest in peace, my forever son-in-law

I'm so sorry for your loss. I still remember Tim clearly from Lamoille Union High School. He was in a lot of my classes. He was quiet and just a really nice guy.
