GILFOYLE TIMOTHY R.
Timothy R. Gilfoyle, 49, died suddenly on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at his home in West Chester, PA. Born in Pittsburgh, Tim grew up in Conneaut Lake as the son of Paul and Patricia Gilfoyle. A 1979 graduate and class valedictorian of Conneaut Lake High School, Tim attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1983 with honors and a degree in Applied Mathematics. Following college, he moved to Malvern and began a career in computer science with Shared Medical Systems. He moved to Pittsburgh in 1988 where he worked for Highmark as Director of Enrollment and Benefits Systems. In 1995, he moved to the Chicago area as an Account Manager and Executive with Shared Medical Systems. When Siemens Medical Solutions took Shared Medical Systems over in 2000, Tim was promoted several times over 7 years, moved to West Chester where he eventually became Vice President-Strategic National Accounts. He was a dedicated and loving father to his three daughters, Alyssa, Emily, and Delaney Gilfoyle all of West Chester. He loved the Pittsburgh sports teams, classic rock, and was an avid cook. In addition to his daughters in West Chester, he is survived by his parents, Paul and Patricia (Roehn) Gilfoyle of Conneaut Lake; his sisters, Kathy Bauer (Paul) of West Middlesex and Tricia Pritchard (Rob) of Butler; and brothers Dennis (Cindy) of Pittsburgh, Thomas (Ann) of Troy, Ohio, and Kevin (Chris) of Greenville. He was a proud uncle with a total of 18 nieces and nephews. Countless other relatives rounded out Tim's family, of which he was very proud. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 South Ninth Street, Conneaut Lake, PA, 16316. Family and friends will be received thirty minutes prior to the service officiated by Father Steve Anderson. A lunch will follow the service in the church social hall. Contributions in memory of Tim may be made to: Samaritans, Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, P.O. Box 110, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.

Gilley- It's been 25 years since I left West Chester and we last spoke, and you're still among the very best friends I could ever wish for. If judged by the number of friends and family and thier sentiments said in your obituary, you must of lived a full and bountiful life in that short time! Finding your news out through the IUP Magazine is my burden, 'wish i would of stayed in touch.

I saw Tim's death in the IUP brochure. I remembered that I used to work with him over 25 years ago. My fondest memory was how he used to always win when he was the first caller on the radio station challenges! From what I remember, he loved music!

Dear Gilfoyle family,
A few weeks have come and gone now and the sadness of Tim's passing remains with me. But with this sadness, I have been able to smile at times as so much of the time I spent with Tim was spent laughing. His incredible quick, usually irreverant wit was obvious to those who were even casual acquaintances. Tim, however, also had a very soft side, a care for those around him. I'll continue to miss him, but also will continue to chuckle at some of his comments, quotes, poems and lyrics. And I will continue to thank him for a gift he continues to give me, my friendship with all of you...Catfish

To Mr. and Mrs. Gilfoyle, Denny and family;
my depest sypathy for your loss. Although I have not seen any of you for too long, I think of everyone. Still I have great memories of us jamming 30 odd years ago, memories never to be lost, especially at the Park. Regretably unable to attend Father Steve's Mass, in my heart I was there.

Dear Gilfoyle Family...
After two weeks I still don't have the words to tell you how saddened and stunned I am at the loss of your Tim.
I last saw him at our 30 year reunion...here, again, the words are difficult. He was a great and talented guy, as easy to talk to as the day in 1979 we all parted ways and went on with our lives. He will be thought of often, and missed, I know, by myself and all whose lives he touched. Again, I am so very sorry.

I met Mr. Gilfoyle from him coming into the hardware store numerous times over the months. I'd always try to be the one to help him because we'd always have great conversations. Whenever I would see a silver Jeep Liberty pull in the parking lot, I'd look for that Steelers wheel cover on the back to see if it was him. When opening my graduation cards after my grad party last summer, I was surprised and happy to see that he signed the card with Emily and gave me a generous gift even though we had only met through his times as a customer at Ace.

Mr. Gilfoyle you will be missed greatly and I am so fortunate to have met you. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. Love you Em!

"Long may you run" Tim, "Long may you run".
You were brilliant, hilarious, and at times naughty. One thing for sure though, if you were around it was gonna be a good time! Boy did we have a lot of those!!! Life happened and the years flew by, but we never forgot you Gilly and we never will.
To all the Gilfoyle family: "The love of a family shelters like a tree". May you find comfort in your faith, each other and all your friends.

To Tim Gilfoyle's loved ones. I knew Tim through a business initiative that we worked on together. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was a decent human being with a sense of humor and clear desire to help others. He was taken from the world at a much too early age. My condolences to those he left behind. May God watch over Tim and keep him in a special place.

My dear brother Tim,
We grew up together during an age of innocence and relied on one another for love and support. We would fight, and then turn around and protect each other. The times we shared, too numerous to mention, shaped us into loving sons, loyal brothers, good husbands and fathers, great uncles and cousins.
You have left us, but I know in my heart that you are here, each and every day. We will hold on tightly to our memories...until we meet again.
I love you my brother and miss you very much.
