Timothy John Houghton, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Horseheads, NY died November 4, 2014. Tim was born on October 15, 1958, in Elmira, NY to Harold and Effie Houghton. He grew up in Horseheads and graduated from Horseheads High School in 1976. He had been living in North Carolina for the last 20 years and enjoyed their warmer winter climate immensely. Tim was predeceased by his mother, Effie in 1989. Tim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy P. and Jessica Houghton of Knightdale, NC; daughter and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Bekah Houghton and their daughter, Eleanor of Seattle, WA; his father and step mother, Harold and Carol Houghton; sister, Penny Reed; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Darlene Houghton; and nieces and nephew, Kati and McKenzie Houghton and Thomas Reed. Tim was laid to rest in New York on a bright and sunny fall afternoon that he would have enjoyed. He followed NASCAR, Penn State football and the New York Mets.
