Timothy Johnston Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 18, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy Johnston, aged 75, on December 15, 2024, after a brief but valiant battle with glioblastoma. Surrounded by his loving family, he departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication.

Tim was born on March 12, 1949 in Hartford, CT to Earl and Marion Johnston. From an early age, his boundless energy and natural charisma made him the life of every gathering. These traits followed him throughout his life, endearing him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

For 48 years, Attorney Johnston was both a fierce advocate and a compassionate counselor. His career was marked by his unwavering commitment to justice and his ability to connect with clients on a personal level. He took pride in mentoring young attorneys and was deeply respected within the legal community.

Outside of his professional life, Timmy was a true social butterfly. He had an unmatched ability to light up a room with his smile, his quick wit, and his heartfelt conversations. He cherished time spent with family and friends, whether hosting lively gatherings, telling adventurous stories over a meal, or sharing his wealth of knowledge on various topics.

Above all, he was a devoted son, brother, father, and PopPop. His family was his greatest source of joy and pride, and he never missed an opportunity to express his love and support. Tim was predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind his brothers, Gary and wife Cindy, Willy and wife Susi, and Steven Johnston; his children, Pamela and husband John Storo, Angela Giansanti, Denay Johnston and husband Fabian Garcia, and Bethany and husband Trae Wallace; his grandchildren Austin and wife JoMarie, Devin, Lexi, Sage, Gaby, Blanca, Nolan, Sadie, Alex, Mateo, Dani, Cedric, James, and Eliot; and his great-grandchildren DJ and Noah. He also leaves behind countless friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly, especially his longstanding and dearest friend, Bob Morra, his partner in colorful explosive adventures.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on December 28th at 1pm at A Villa Louisa in the Grand Ballroom in Bolton, CT. A second gathering will be held Fourth of July weekend 2025, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be mailed to Vernon BOE 30 Park Street Vernon, CT 06066 for a scholarship in his memory - The Attorney Timothy J. Johnston Memorial Scholarship. Please include "Attorney Timothy J. Johnston Memorial Scholarship" on the memo line.

Tim will forever be remembered for his warmth, his integrity, and the countless lives he touched. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Timmy was my best friend for over 3 decades. He was my friend, confidant, and my travel buddy for the last 5 years. He will forever live in my heart. The pictures are from trips we took together.

Tim was more than my Attorney but a friend for life, from his early days at First National Supermarkets, to the numerous legal and real estate transactions that he superbly handled. He will be missed.
