Timothy McCabe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 10, 2025.
Tim McCabe (1947 - 2025) passed away on October 8, 2025, after years of defying medical odds-and occasionally his doctor's orders. Known for his quick (and often stale) jokes, he made illness seem like an inconvenience rather than a battle. We now picture him healthy, whole, and organizing Heaven's next neighborhood H-O-R-S-E game.

Born to Maurice and Evelyn McCabe, Tim graduated from Greenfield High School, earned a business degree from MATC, and married the love of his life, Lucy, in 1970. He worked as a printing supervisor before joining Essential Industries, where he remained until retirement.

Tim believed work was a way to serve others. He supported many charities with his time and means. He always carried envelopes to help anyone he came across that was down on their luck. His legacy of kindness and generosity will be long remembered.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucy; children Shawn (Holly) McCabe and Kelly (Dan) Schuett; grandchildren Alexandria (William) Lueck, Abigail (Cody) Micheal, Colin (Mackenzi) Larson, Alayna Larson, Kailyn (Justin) McCabe, Olivia Dewane, and Finn McCabe; great-grandchildren Vivienne, William, and Huxton; siblings Paul, Peter, and Marcia (Mark) Smeiska; brother and sister-in-law Greg and Barb Selendic; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws John and Mary Selendic; and sister-in-law Marilyn Selendic.

The family thanks Dr. Haake and staff for enduring Tim's jokes and creating a environment that he actually looked forward to, given the circumstances, the Legacy Hospice team for their comfort, CVS Pharmacist Adam for his constant care, and special friend Mary Yellick for her support. Above all, our heartfelt thanks to our mom, Lucy-Tim's caregiver for 22 years-whose love and selflessness embodied true devotion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated to continue Tim's charitable giving to the Waukesha Food Pantry, St. Jude's, and Operation Smile.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Bridge Church, 1314 S Grand Ave, Waukesha. Visitation begins at 11 a.m., followed by service and gathering at noon.
