Susan and I want to offer our condolences to the extended Mitchell family. I went to school with Tim and I had his children as my students. He was a great family man and it was an honor to know him. I did ski with him or should I say I skied behind him.

Our condolences from the Hallgrens. Tim will always be remembered for some great days on the snow and on our bikes. I too am one of the people who always fought to keep up. He always brought a lot of infectious energy and motivated the group! We will all miss him.

Dearest Sue and family, our condolences. I loved putting our boots on in the locker room together, thinking of the fresh day ahead, and always trying to get you and Tim to try skate skiing. Your hearts were fully into alpine and your skiing reflected that. Both such beautiful skiers and talented instructors. What a guy, what a team you two made, and now we have the joy of spending time with Chad, Bridget, Hazel, Ben, and Lucy and Trevor and Jack. We feel blessed in getting to know more of your family. Sending you a lot of love and good memories.

For years we skied together, or should I say I was al a ays chasing Tim and the rest of the family. The plan was to meet at the mountain, we did and then that was that never to be seen again until they came around and lapped me on the trai. Watching him ski the steps was like a ballet and will never forget all the memories of the entire group passing me again. We will be missed and my condolences to Sue and the rest of the clan.

Tim made me ski down Otter Slide!!! I was super scared, but he stayed close and coaxed me down with grace! That was Tim--he knew a person could do something even though it might seem difficult or scary. I always seemed to have a little more confidence when skiing with BOTH Sue and Tim. We'll post more memories, but I will never forget that day on Otter Slide. I felt as if I really challenged my fear of heights and accomplished something special -- I couldn't have done it without him. We will miss him so much here in Big Sky. Much love to Sue and the family. Jennifer Reed (and Bill)

Uncle Tim and Aunt Sue were so generous in inviting us to go out to Big Sky and stay with them. Some of the best vacations I have had were with my hooligan cousins. Thank you for instilling such an adventurous side into all of us. I will continue to think of Uncle Tim when I go skiing. From the oranges and sandwiches in my breast pockets to waiting at the end of the trail to cheer the other hooligans on. And of course finishing off the day by having kids make the adults whiskey sours as they hangout in the hot tub. Sending love to you all, "follow the fall line". <3

I´m so sorry to learn of Tim´s passing. He was 2 years in front of me at BH. He was an amazing skier. When I taught at Galway he volunteered with our Outdoor Education Program. Tim was a huge asset. When I took my family to Montana Tim offered us his house. He was that type of guy.

When I first started skiing in Big Sky, I was introduced to Tim by Dick Fast. We were skiing in the bowl and the first thing Tim said was, you are never too old to get to be a better skier. I was 60 then and thanks largely to Tim and Sue, I got to be a much better skier but nowhere near as good as Tim and Sue.
