TImothy Nail Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 29, 2011.
Timothy Alan Nail was born November 1, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa and passed away quietly in his sleep on April 29, 2011 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Tim was born at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. His parents were students at the University of Iowa at that time. The family moved to West Des Moines, IA. in January of 1964. Tim began his academic career at Fair Meadows School in September 1964. He then attended West Des Moines Jr. High School until December, 1973. The family moved to Fort Collins and Tim attended Blevins Junior High School and later attended Rocky Mountain High School graduating in 1977. While living in Iowa, Tim and his family spent several weeks in the Poudre Canyon every summer. He spent a great deal of time fly fishing, a sport he taught to his son. Tim loved to hike with his children. Occasionally they would camp out in their tents. Tim loved the outdoors. We had an old rustic family cabin up the Poudre Canyon that was our summer center of activity. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the splendor of Colorado. During the winter, we spent time skiing (Tim and his brother Tom were excellent downhill skiers). Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Sally; his maternal grandparents, Dr. Carl and Viola Sampson of Creston, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Mary Margaret Weber and Albert Weber of Muscatine, Iowa. Tim is survived by his father, Thomas E. Nail; his elder brother, Thomas E. Nail II. He also was the loving father of a son, Christopher, two daughters, Ashley and Kristen, and the most beautiful child in Colorado, Lydia, his granddaughter. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church in Fort Collins. Tim, we will miss your smile, your quick wit, your intelligence and your big heart. We will long for your approval of us, as well as your understanding of our ways. We will always love you. Please give Grandma Sally a kiss from us. The family, Dad, Tom, Christopher, Ashley, Kristen and Lydia.
