Timothy Scheidt

Oh, I´m so sad to hear this news. Tim´s dedication to supporting and empowering students through fun, engaging programs was truly ingenious. We used his programs in San Diego County for many years (and they may still be in use today). I know my students loved using statistics to build their fantasy baseball teams, competing with classmates and other students across the county for the best team in San Diego.

Tim was one of those rare individuals who truly walked the talk, creating meaningful, positive change for so many students. I will forever be grateful for his support, intelligence, and creativity in enriching the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of children. He was a true visionary, and we need more educators like Tim.

Dear Tim's Family and Loved Ones,

We would like to express our sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved Son, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Partner and Friend. As this beautifully written obituary attests, he was a truly special man and we felt heartbroken to learn of his passing. I first met Tim in San Diego after Nikki´s tragic accident. Although I deeply wish that the circumstances of our meeting were different, I felt grateful to have met him and inspired by his warmth, love and dedication to his daughter and his entire family, by his curiosity, thoughtfulness and attentiveness to everyone he was speaking with.

We are very sad that Tim is no longer with us on this physical plane and we will miss him. At the same time we celebrate his rich, full, life and all the love and kindness he has shown all of us as well as his countless creative, intellectual, educational contributions and achievements. What a legacy he leaves behind! His life and love are an inspiration, and we are forever grateful to have known him a little bit.

WOW!!! During my childhood years, my family (the Handell's) and Tim's family maintained a close friendship. Though we only lived in Williamston for about 2 years, our families got together several times a year for picnics or Sunday cookouts. My sister (Kathy), Tim's brother (Terry), and I (Chris) would 'play' together because we are all very close in age...the song "Hang Down Your Head, Tom Dooley" was the background to much of the time we spent together:):):) I truly regret having lost contact with the Scheidt family. Rest in peace, sweet Timmy. Both of my sons are in heaven with you....Keith and I will make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Timmy's name.

I met Tim at Sharp´s radiation treatment waiting room. My dad was getting a very similar treatment as Tim and they had a similar radiation schedule. I was blessed to get to know him a little through this time. He spoke about his family often (and lit up while doing so) and we spoke about the challenges of cancer. In our talks, he always remained so positive and he really helped me try to remain positive for my dad as well. He extended offers to be someone my dad could talk to, which I really appreciated. I enjoyed when I saw him seated in the waiting room because I knew I would get a dose of positive energy. I always admired his outlook on the journey of fighting cancer and I am so sorry to learn of his passing. He was a genuinely nice man, who seemed to genuinely care about my dad-someone he barely knew- and I´ll forever be grateful for our talks during that challenging time. May he rest in peace. Much love goes out to his family and friends.

I was Tim´s neighbor for 14 years. We would always say hi or wave to each other, and on occasion, had coffee and talked about life. He had a beautiful presence about him. He was positive, grateful and appreciative of life. He was always interested in hearing about my life, and I his. His friends and family were definitely on the top of his list. His dedication of visiting Nikki every day was so admirabable! He loved his coffee and would go every day at around the same time to pick up a cup from Starbucks. He did so many different things like writing a book about the Kensington Cafe, acting in a play that I, my mum and Michelle went to see him many years ago. Very impressive! I could go on and on. I miss him every day as I look out the window and realise he´s not there any more. It is so empty and you are extremely missed Tim. Thanks for being an amazing neighbor! Wishing we had had more time together! I will keep the lessons you taught me about what was important in life in my heart! Thank you!

Tim and I attended Williamston schools together. We shared a strong connection as we were born on the same date06-08-1958. I called him bro, he called me sis. Maybe it was the shared birthdate, but we shared a lot of personal traits as well. Our prankster personality´s raised many a teachers eyebrow. All in good fun! Williamston was a fabulous place to grow up and I was very envious of Tim when he made the bold move to the west coast. How proud I am of his accomplishments, the best one being a father. The world will not be the same without his smile. I will raise a glass in his honor every June 8 ! Sending sympathy Sue Turner

Tim was a giant of a presence in our professional circle. With patience and kindness, he added much to our group. As the guru of resolutions for the conundrums and dead ends that litter our leadership landscapes, his wisdom and intuition brought possibilities and progress to many a discussion of better practice for schools and learning communities. The void that is left by his passing will long reign over our leadership team. We will remember and value his contribution on into many tomorrows. We were all better men and women having known him and worked with him.
Rest in peace my dear friend. We will miss you!

I used to visit Tim at his home to chat and hang out .. on one visit he said to me with all heart ..
" I wanted to let you know how happy I am that your son Michael is with Michelle " also he said " thank you so much for taking such care with the grandkids "
He said I have been wanting to thank you and tell you how much I love your son ... he teared up as I did .. it was a special moment...
Tim was one of the sweetest people and I am blessed and honored I knew him and had many holidays and soccer games , so many memories..
