Timothy St. John Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2012.
Timothy (Tim) Craig St. John, 31, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2012 in Hopkins, MN. Born October 8, 1980 in Neenah, Wisconsin, son of Randall & Pat St. John of Kingsford, Michigan. Tim was raised in Kingsford and attended Kingsford Public Schools. Tim will be best remembered as a strong, passionate man with a generous heart. He deeply loved his family and was very protective of them. He was a son, brother, husband, & a father. Tim loved his parents very much and often spoke highly of them & of the deep respect he had for them because of their faith in Jesus Christ – a faith Tim also shared, despite the struggles he faced in life. Tim also loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile. Both family & friends have fond memories of Tim pulling pranks, doing silly voices and making funny faces just to get a laugh. He was passionate about a few things in life besides family: music & cooking. Tim was a very talented percussionist. His love for percussion instruments started at an early age when he would bang on five gallon buckets in his parent's garage before he was old enough to join the school band & learned how to play a real drum set. At various times in his life, Tim played percussion in church both in Iron Mountain & later in his adult years in Minnesota. As talented as he was with a set of drum sticks in his hand, he was equally talented in the kitchen. Tim worked as a chef for various restaurants in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. His family always enjoyed when he would come home for a visit and quickly whip up something gourmet from whatever was in the refrigerator and cupboards. Those who knew Tim well knew that he struggled in life but they also know & believe, as Tim did, that God's mercy & grace are limitless. It was God's mercy & grace that made Tim the wonderful man he was & that same mercy & grace comforts those closest to him now. Tim is survived by his parents, Randall & Pat St. John of Kingsford. Two sisters, Amanda (Stuart) Hunte of Green Bay, WI. and Alyssa (Andy) Schmidt of Two Rivers, WI. His wife, Chelsea Orr-St. John and four children Jaydon, Brennon, Kelsie, & Chase St. John & one step-daughter, Tekasia Bogan-Orr of Winsted, MN. His grandparents, Wallace & Phyllis St. John of Iron Mountain and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald & Joan Rose and Darrel & Adeline Land. One aunt, Debbie St. John and an uncle, Timothy Paul St. John Visitation & funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25th at Northern Light Christian Church N4089 Pine Mountain Rd. Iron Mountain, MI. Visitation from 11:45-1pm. Funeral service will begin at 1pm.Pastor Kent Angeloff will officiate. A luncheon will follow at Grace Baptist Church 1295 Pyle Dr. Kingsford, MI. It's been 7 years and it still as fresh today as it was back then. There are still no words to let you know how much I miss you. By now you would be so proud of all your children. They have grown so much and all are doing well living with Amanda. I love you SON.

My only Son, I miss more and more as each year passes by. Losing you 4 days short of 6 years ago was the hardest thing I have ever been through. as each anniversary approaches the pain of losing you returns as if it was 2012. I miss hearing your voice. Like your father you had a distinct voice, I new it was you talking from another room. I will never forget you helping me caulk the gutters.
I tried to spray paint over what you wrote on my garage wall, and it made it worse.
Any way I better go because this its to hard to keep writing. Love Dad
