Timothy Stickel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2025.
Chesterfield - Timothy Gene Stickel, 68 of Chesterfield, and better known to some as Tim, Timmy, Dad, or PaPa passed away in his home surrounded by his family on January 16, 2025.

Tim was born on, December 4, 1956, to Ulysses and Laura Stickel in Richmond, Va. After graduating from Thomas Dale High School Tim began his first career at Deluxe Printing and married his lifetime love and devoted wife of 47 years, Lori Robinson Stickel. Tim retired from Deluxe after 24 years and moved on to his second career at Chesterfield County Utilities for the next 21 years until his second retirement in 2022.

Tim had an infectious smile that would light up any room and he never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly and was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially if it involved the kids, sports, or cars. When he was helping out, it was a rare occasion that his laughter was not distracting progress along the way.

Above all, Tim's love and devotion to his children is appreciated more than they could ever express, and they hope to ensure his legacy lives on through them. He enjoyed classic cars and his Harley for many years however his eyes always lit up and he was most proud of his family.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Ulysses Grant Stickel, Jr., his mother, Laura Mae Stickel, and sister, Judy Anne Snead. He is survived by his loving wife Lori Stickel, his sons and their wives; TJ and Brooke Stickel, Jeremy and Shelly Stickel, his daughter, Leslie Stickel; Four Grandchildren - Austin, Madilyn, Driston and Greyson Stickel; his sister - Dianne Smith and brother - Jimmy Stickel as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and legacy will be held at his son's home at a later date yet to be finalized.

Tim Stick. That's what I called you. It's your guy Doug. When you and the family moved to the neighborhood, I was mowing the lawn and you came over and had first words with that jolly smile. (lol) At that time I knew it was going to be good times. Always helpful. Great laughs, couple drinks here and there, inviting us in to your home. I cried while laughing so hard at the things you say. Wow man. Crazy laughs every time you road your scooter down the street. Never a day without speaking. There will never be another friend like you. NEVER. My brother we miss you. We will raise a sip for a great friend. See you again one day. Memories for ever.
