Timothy Sturgeon Obituary
Born in Meril, Michigan, Tim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be remembered for his deep devotion and loyalty to his tribe as well as his kind, understanding heart.
After the loss of his wife Patty, Tim became the cornerstone of his family, guiding them with strength and love. His dedication to family unity and his unwavering support were the foundations upon which many cherished memories were built.
He was predeceased by his parents, Patricia A. Gordon (Deverney) and Albert Sturgeon; stepfather, Harry Gordon. His beloved wife and best friend of over 40 years Patricia 'Patty' Fay Sturgeon; children: Timothy James Sturgeon II and Angel Marie Sturgeon. His in-laws, Delores 'Dee' (Fraley)& Joe Hice of Newberry; George 'Dutch' Calkins of Newberry; as well as siblings, Robert 'Bob' (Carol Beals) Sturgeon Sr., of Grand Haven; Donald 'Craig' (Shelia Bridges-Caswell) Gordon of Newberry, and Mary Margaret 'Meg' Sturgeon (Bullis) of Georgia. In addition to three step brothers: Larry Dean, Carter Wayne and Tony Gordon; as well as several nieces and nephews he held dear to his heart.
Tim is loved and missed dearly by his two children: Deanna Sturgeon and Zachary Sturgeon both of Newberry. Grand children: Angelica Vansetters & Patricia Sturgeon (Newberry); Brenna Larkin-Alexander (Chase) of Caro. Lianna Sturgeon- Jerrell (Kevin) of Rudyard and his only grandson Jessie James Sturgeon of Rudyard, MI. As well as two beautiful great grand daughters: Wynonna Kay & Everly Frey.
Tim is also survived by many siblings. Brothers: Daniel (Jane) Sturgeon of Newberry; David (Alyce) Sturgeon of Muskegon and Allen (Laurie) Sturgeon of West Olive; and Johnny Gordon of Newberry. Sisters: Kathy (Tom Ocko) Sturgeon-McNamara of Newberry, Almeda Sturgeon- (Wally) Struntz of Grand Haven, Jackie Gordon- (Joe) Whalen of Newberry, and finally Amy Gordon-(Jon) Geek of Coleman, MI.
Tim will be fondly remembered as a loving and protective family man, whose kindness and acceptance left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but his family finds solace in the knowledge that he is at peace, having been a devoted patriarch to the end.

That he liked giving nicknames xoxo. I had a handful before I was 12. Binky, coco moe, moejoe, moey, sis.. my kiddos had nicknames as well gellyfish, gelka, gel, jellybelly, jean bean, patty cakes, cakers, pickle, pattypickle..EVEN MY SIBLINGS HAD A LIST- FEED N WEED, WEEDER, T I MM ER, LUCK, LUCKY, RUDE DUDE MCCOY OR BUB.. OUR FRIENDS WERE GIVEN NAMES TOO: MIDGET, RATPACK, WOMAN, SHINEQUA,
GRANDCHILDREN TOO: BRENNA LOU LOU, BEAN, BEANA, POOPER LONNA LOU, LON, LALA, MEANER JAMERS, JAMES, JES...
HIS WIFE HAD SEVERAL TOO: pattyfay, trishafay, tpat, tbird, Trish, pat, patty,..... I think I could keep this list going for a while. There was no shortage of names being thrown around. Xoxo lol good ol dad, sturge, pops ,papa and one we were not allowed to call him was Fathead.. for some reason that name was off limits hahha. It'd strike a cord. So of course as kids, we'd throw this out there n make a break for it.. fast!

When I was in the 5 grade and the family lived on John st patty and Tim threw a birthday party for his daughter. That was the best party....
