Obituary

Tina Gerving, age 39, of Erskine, MN, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 in Erskine. Tina Lynn Gerving was born March 30, 1965, the daughter of Allen and Caroline Gerving in Detroit Lakes, MN. She grew up east of Waubun and as a young girl moved with her family to St. Paul, MN. They returned to Waubun where Tina attended school, graduating from Waubun High School with the class of 1983. In April of 1983, Tina was married and began her family. They lived in Detroit Lakes where Tina worked at the turkey plant. In 1988, she attended Fergus Falls Technical College and later attended Bemidji State College, graduating in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Tina then moved to Mahnomen and began working at the Shooting Star Casino in the payroll department. After a few years, she moved to Erskine where she had continued to make her home. Tina had been employed at New Flyer in Crookston for the past year and a half. The love of Tina's life was her four girls. She treasured her involvement in their lives. She was active in the Inter County Community Council, was a Sunday school teacher in Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine and she delivered the Grand Forks Herald. Tina also found enjoyment in exercising, fishing and reading. She also took great pride in tending to her yard and flower gardens. Tina is survived by her daughters, Tonia Brubaker and Samantha Brubaker of McIntosh, MN and Allena Gerving and Jena Gerving of Erskine; her father, Allen (Angie) of Waubun, MN; mother, Caroline Gerving of Mahnomen, MN; sister, Sharice (Aaron) Andresen of Euclid, MN; one grandson, Ian Brubaker, McIntosh; two nephews, Jacob and Isaiah; one niece, Erika; a special aunt, Jeri Fjelstad; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerhart and Hilda Gerving and Charles and Marie Pederson; cousin Bruce Ahles and godparents, Claryce Adams-Flicek and Buddie Adams. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waubun, MN. Visitation will be Thursday January 27, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Lake Grove Lutheran Church, rural Waubun. Visitation will also be one hour before services at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday. Contributions to the surviving children can be made at the Bremer Bank in Crookston. Interment will be in Lake Grove Cemetery, rural Waubun, MN. Arrangements entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home, Mahnomen

Tina is my sister, and she is missed so much. She was (is) such a warm hearted beautiful person. And her love lives through her four daughters. Which her youngest are living with me and my Husband. I love you Tina and miss you so much. All my love your lil' sis, Sharice

I went to school with Tina 7th-12th grade at Waubun Highschool.
