Tina Kay Hahnl

Tina Kay (Summers) Hahnl was born October 4, 1952 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and passed away July 10, 2017 in Dallas, TX. Tina was extremely dedicated to her career, having worked for 37 years for the Dallas Independent School District, most recently at W.W. Samuell High School.

She will, however, be most remembered for her love and dedication to her family. Tina met Herb Hahnl, the man she would spend the next 47 years of her life with, when they were attending North Texas State University. They married October 27, 1972, and would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary later this year. Tina shared with her 3 children and 6 grandchildren her love of animals and the outdoors, teaching them how to hunt, and leaving them with wonderful memories of fishing at their lake house at Cedar Creek Lake. She also looked forward to spending time with her extended family at family reunions, where they would share pictures of the grandkids, and reminisce about times they shared growing up.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Wilma Jean (Shankster) Summers. She is survived by her loving husband, Herb Hahnl; son, Tim Hahnl and wife Lorie; daughters, Summer Hill and husband David, and Katy Em and husband Lim; grandchildren, Kyle, Reagan, Lani, Brooke, Myles, and Tyson; sister, Karen King and husband Gary; brothers, Tim Summers and wife Pat, and Tony Summers; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, and Graveside Funeral Services will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
