Todd Barker Obituary
Todd was born July 23, 1979, in Davenport, to Thomas L. and Terri Jo (Mahnken) Barker. He graduated from Davenport North High School in 1997. Todd loved life and lived for the moment. He was a highly spirited soul. He was very family oriented and a wonderful father, uncle, brother, and son. Todd most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Gabe, father, Tom, brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom M. and Lisa, all of Davenport, and Tim and Angela, of Dubuque, Iowa; grandfather, Jerry Mahnken, of Beardstown, Ill.; and nieces and nephews, Kathy, Nick, Nate, and Morgan. I didn't know you that well, and in the late 90's, unfortunate circumstances brought our paths together. I'm grateful we had the opportunity to meet though. I could tell you were genuinely a great person and I'm glad you ended up having a beautiful gift of little boy. God bless you up in Heaven. We'll meet again someday and catch up. ❤

Today is a day that made me realize how a death of a parent really does impact a child no matter how old they are. I am a teacher of Gabe's and he drew a picture of you on your motorcycle and said "This is my daddy on his motorcycle" and then said that he misses his daddy. When I looked up your picture, I saw Gabe. What a wondeful son you brought into this world. I hope your family knows that there are strangers that will forever be Gabe's guardian angel.

It was a sad day coming home after two years and finding out that Todd had passed away. I have many wonderful memories of Todd and Friends the summer after we graduated. He was a wonderful person. To the family, I send my deepest sympathy. He will be missed but we will always have the memories.

It was a sad to come home after two years and find out that Todd passed away. I have many wonderful memories with Todd and friends that summer after we graduated. He was a great guy. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss.

I just recently heard of Todd's passing and wanted to send my condolences to all of his family and friends. I hadn't seen Todd in years but my heart still hurt when I heard the knews. I cannot imagine the hole that is left without his presence in the lives of those that he was very close with.
In keeping his memory alive, I wanted to share a few photos that I found that made me smile. They remind me of the Todd that I remember in high school: a guy with a big heart & great friends, someone who would tell you "like it was" (so maybe he teased me from time to time! hahah), a guy who was passionate about cars or anything with a motor, and the guy who definitely had the coolest car at school!
You will be missed!

It has been a very sad time for so many people.
Everyone who has been touched by death in the last few weeks are on the minds and in the prayers of so many people.It doesnt matter how well you know someone.What matters is that you HATE to see them go, and someone lose A father, A son, A friend.

Todd was such a great friend and father it is so hard to believe that this could have happened. I've known Todd since he was 8 and I was 4. My brother, Eric, and him did everything together. He was like a brother to us. We will miss him more than words could ever say. It is nice to know he won't be alone up there. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I can't imagine the pain his family feels.
Lets all remember the good times. I remember when he convinced Eric to set fire to a pair of ripped old tighty-whiteys that he had on the outside of his clothes. They went up in flames and then on the carpet to leave a huge burn. That was fun to explain to the parents. There is so many memories for everyone to remember. RIP Todd

I have several personal memories that I will treasurer for a lifetime. Todd was such a wonderful and unforgetable man. A loving, and caring father. My heart completely shattered that day. My deepest sympathies to his son Gabe and family. Todd will be forever missed.

We didn't know Todd for that long, but he was a wonderful person, a great father and all aroud a great guy. We will never meet anyone else like him. Our heart and prayers go out to his son and family. He will be greatly missed. RIP Todd.
