Arleen Bailey Duggins, 97, passed away on, Sunday, December 27, 2020 at North Pointe of Mayodan.

A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Riverview Cemetery in Madison. Mrs. Duggins will lie in state on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home.

A Rockingham County native, Arleen was born on May 7, 1923, to the late Charles and Annie Boney Bailey. She was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Mayodan. She was very artistic and was often referred to as the "Cake Lady" while owning her own catering business and doing many weddings and events. She was also a huge advocate for the Rockingham County Senior games, participating herself in basketball, horseshoes, line dancing, and even the running long jump at 94 years old. Arleen also enjoyed cooking and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Hughes Duggins; her grandson, Gregory Paul Williams; three sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Wayne Williams of Salinas, CA, Elaine Williams Shamel (Travis) of Raleigh, and Cheryl Duggins Allred of Stokesdale; her grandchildren, Amy, Mitchell, Paul, Kelly, Slade, Catrina, Travis Jr., Todd, Lecil, Bailey, Colby, and Caitlin; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Episcopal Church of the Messiah, 114 S. 2nd Ave, Mayodan, NC 27027.
