In memory of

I was shocked to see this today. I worked for Todd back in 2008 and we reconnected in 2023 before I went back to Europe. I was so happy to be around him and help him organize his thoughts and he was so thankful towards me and him saying so had such a profound impact on me. There's always very straightforward and honest and really at his core such a good person and a good being. I really hope to meet him again sometime into this future of infinity.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. I knew Todd from Corpus Christi, TX and it broke my heart when and how I found out.
He truly was a one of a kind extremely special guy who deserved all the happiness in life. His whole life was like a wild trip. He was always able to find and help others find a little peace of mind. I actually happened to find a music artist the day that I heard the news and he resembles Todd so much to me. If anyone is interested it´s
Wild Trip - DENM, Landon McNamara.
May his beautiful soul rest in peace.
I apologize for this late message I didn´t find out till July and I didn´t know it would hit me so hard but I make sure to sing and share my music with him always. If anyone wants to reach out contact me at the following:

Hi,
My name is Samuel Blackwell
For work I am a Building Inspector with the City Of Santa Barbara, Ca.
I met Todd a few years ago and we became friends. We would talk about relationships, common hobbies we shared, our love for animals, our love for the ocean, surfing, and the positive spiritual truth things of life. I called Todd "My Beloved Brother". He was telling me that he was going to get married soon and invited me to be there. He said that his Fiancee and he were looking for a church that still had the Truth, so I shared the truth about the 7th Day Sabbath being Saturday. I invited him to my "Circle Of Friends" that meets on Friday nights for vegetarian food and sharing. Most recently I saw him on a Job of his in Santa Barbara. Todd is the seventh Contractor I know that has died in the last two years. I am DEEPLY HEARTBROKEN :(
My warm prayers of encouragement are ceaselessly ascending to our Almighty Father Creator, Merciful Saviour, and Comforting Spirit who are soon to return and call us up to him with the glory and reward of our new eternal bodies that will never suffer again...we will be home...
Your Friend Forever...
Truly,
Samuel

I first met Todd when he lived with our son in Hollywood. As they developed a deep friends Todd moved to San Antonio with Derek and then to port Aransas continuing a career building. We became family. Ie mama and papa P. His go to for advise right up to the end. They built an incredible loft in our barn. A Todd and Derek as brothers we will have this Todd memory every time we look at. Our hearts are broken with this tragic lost. But I know he with our lord and savior. As I stated before. It´s like the song my dearest todd, "You just beat me there!" We only wish we would have known about the service on line. We would have been there up front and center. We will always love you! You loved to live. You came into my life and your impact left a lasting imprint on me. You were so non judgmental, of pretty much everyone and every situation. I loved how I could take you anywhere and you´d be everyone´s friend by the end. You really found joy in little things. For example, "ground scores," a huge burrito you could have for breakfast AND lunch, slow mornings because you worked so hard, the beach, of course. I have been staring out over the water for the past weeks and my mind just goes back to you.
The world feels different without you in it. I can´t believe I won´t ever see you again. I´ll never forget the way you smelled, like sweet sweat and sawdust. I hope you know how much everyone loved you, you were a good person and you put your heart into everything you did. Your hands spoke stories. They just don´t make people like you anymore, Todd. I´m very happy you were a part of my life. Rest in peace.

Todd was always so fun and exciting to be around. He had an amazing energy for life and especially for helping and teaching others. I knew Todd since before we started Laguna and literally every single memory I have of him is positive. The news hit me hard as surely it did everyone, my deepest condolences to his closest friends and family and this is an opportunity for us to remember such a special person with a heart of GOLD.

My first memory of Todd Black (he was a first AND last name kinda guy to all of us) was as a skateboarding freshman at SLO High. We had gotten word about some of the things Todd had done on his skateboard recently, and it was so far beyond anything we could do it instantly made him seem like he couldn't be real.
Eventually, video evidence appeared and we were as shocked to see the footage as we were to hear about the tricks in the first place. As intimidating as his skill level was and as intimidating as we made him out to be, Todd was anything but. We were shocked at how NICE he was... how could he be nice on top of all that? He was approachable and encouraging whenever we saw him, and that left an impression.
Later after Todd moved to LA, I would see him from time to time at the Surf Shop where I work. As we got older, we would touch base on skating but more so surfing- we agreed it hurt less :)
I admired Todd for his willingness to try big things on the board and off- moving to LA to pursue your dreams seemed like something only done in movies, but he wasn't the kind of person I really remember doubting. His confidence and ability didn't seem overshadow his humility, and that's a rare combo.
Wishing Todd, his friends, and family peace- John and the Lucas Family

I've known Todd since we were kids living around the block from C.L. Smith Elementary.
An early memory of Todd with us skateboarding in the neighborhood. Later his big brother, Nate, joined and schooled us in grinding without wax. We were so impressed (and intimidated ).
Anyhow, what has always stuck with me about Todd since we first met was his indiscriminative kind heart for others, and his dare devil commitmemt to adventure. Love you bro! - Atwater

The beautiful thing about working with wedding couples is the opportunity to see something unique and special between them. Devin and Todd´s connection, whether on the dance floor or out in life was beautiful, deep, and caring. I got to see him in a place where he was completely in love and dancing. One of the happiest souls.

Oh geez, I´m not sure but an early memory is Todd squeezing his stout little 15-month body onto the baby seat on a kiddie rocking horse. His concentration and determination to get in there! After galloping for about 10 seconds he started trying to extricate himself. After numerous determined attempts, Todd threw in the towel and in his gravel voice announced, "I need help!"
That was just a microcosm of the Todd we all loved.
