Tomas Ignacio Anaya September 6, 1985 - September 2, 2012 Tomas was born September 6, 1985 in Bakersfield, California to Tomas L. Anaya and Helen D. Cullen. He passed away on September 2, 2012. Tomas graduated in 2003 from Foothill High. He was an artist continually seeking ways to engage in one medium or another. As a writer, singer, painter, and musician he created, practiced, and demonstrated his art as a method to communicate and express his sorrow, pain, anger and finally his contagious humor. His ultimate masterpiece was with Tristan Morales. Together they gave this world Little Miss Addison Spareaux Anaya; an exact mini-Tomas, in appearance and spirit. Addi was how Tomas found the meaning of his life. They were best of friends. His whole purpose became the pursuit to give Addison unconditional love, laughter and happiness. Tomas was affectionately known as Tom Cat, Tom-Tom, Iggy, Tommy, and Tomi. Tomas certainly marched to the beat of his own drum. His lyrics screamed for a second chance, finding his way back to his Father and making peace. He wrote of so many people that touched his life. He was gregarious and cantankerous all in one! He surrounded himself with people that thrived on his laughter and loved him. Survived by parents; Helen D. and Nick Cullen, Tomas L. and Michelle Anaya. Siblings; Zachary Anaya, Candace L. Anaya, Lindsay D. Anaya. Tristan Morales and daughter Addison S. Anaya. Grandparents; Joaquin and Lydia Anaya, Josephine and Henry Unruh. Aunt and Uncles; Yolanda and Leavy Hooks, Ivonne and Russ McKee, Liza and Jody Shadden, Diana and Craig Rhodes, Joaquin and Jessica Anaya, and Ramona and Robert Sanchez. Countless of cousins that he played with and annoyed as a child. Finally, long time child hood friends that loved him dearly. Services honoring his life will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield CA., 93307 at 2:00 P.M. A private interment will be held at a later date.
