Tommy Lee Austin 70, of Vale, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Frye Regional Medical Center.



Born on December 10, 1946 in Caldwell, NC, he was the son of the late Ervin Monroe Austin and Ruth Austin. Tommy loved to fish and hunt, he loved spending time with his family, especially his son-in-law who he loved dearly. You never saw him without his hat on and a smile on his face. Tommy had a great sense of humor, always making everyone laugh.



Mr. Austin is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Austin; son, Tony Austin; daughter, Crystal Melton and husband Robert; granddaughters, Chelsey and Cheyenne Calloway.



A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations Hickory, NC.



A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Austin to the American Cancer Society at 1285 Rudy St. # 103 Onalaska, WI 54650.

My Aunt Ruth was Tommy's mother. Even though it has been years since we have saw other and Tommy was a few years older than me...I will always remember how he affectionately picked on me and laughed. My love and sympathy goes out to his family..Prayers and God' blessings..
