Tommy Nash Obituary

Tommy Joe Nash went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.

Mr. Nash was born on Feb. 16, 1947, to Ruby and Cecil Nash. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. after 34 years of dedicated service. He lived in the Chandler area for many years and spent much of his time after retirement putting his love for children to work as a substitute teacher.

Tommy loved God, his family and friends and the Brownsboro Bears.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Cecil Nash; brother, Cecil C. Nash; sisters, Mary Lou McQueen and Ruth Ann Wood.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pansy Nash; daughter, Tanya Nash of Chandler; son, Craig Nash of Waco; brother, John and wife Diane of Chandler; brother, Clarence "Bo" and wife Betty of Round Rock; brother, Jerry and wife Diana of Lindale; brother, Jacky of Quitman; sister, Dorothy "Dotty" Petty and husband Edward Petty of Kilgore; and numerous nieces and nephews and a community of friends and coworkers, all of whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Chandler with burial following in Chandler Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to a scholarship fund being established for graduates of Brownsboro High School. Checks may be made out to the Tommy Nash Memorial Scholarship Fund and deposited at First State Bank in Brownsboro, P.O. Box 405, Brownsboro, 75756, or Citizen's State Bank in Chandler, P.O. Box 635, Chandler, 75758.
