I've gone home to heaven shed no tears for me
I've shed this tattered body my spirits been set free
Some may say to early but the fact, it still remains
I've gone home to heaven no more heartache no more pain
Don't think of me in sorrow remember me and smile
I've gone home to heaven you'll see me in a while
Here, I am not lonely, if only you could see
I've gone home to heaven, surrounded by family
The one's who've gone before me have met me at the gate
Arms were all wide open I'm wrapped in loves embrace
Peacefulness and happiness surround me in this place
I've gone home to heaven, behold I see His face
I've shed this tattered body my spirits been set free
I've gone home to heaven shed no tears for me....

Tom has been a friend for a long time. I first met Tom when the Western Tidewater Radio Association, WTRA, was founded in 1995. Tom served as secretary of the WTRA from 1995 through 2007. Tom assisted the club in maintaining the WTRA repeater system which provides emergency communications for Isle of Wight, and participated in many field Day exercises. My wife, Betty, worked with Tom while she was the office manager at the Isle of Wight County Museum and Tom would frequently visit the museum as part of his job with Isle of Wight county maintenance. The last time I saw Tom was when I stopped at his home on the morning that Dolly passed away. Since then I was able to talk with him by phone and by ham radio several times. He will be missed. Rest in peace.

We didn't see each other very much but we talked on the phone, oh how you loved to talk. I'm grateful to my Lord that I know where you are and that you are no longer blind. You have been reunited with Dolly, Mema and Pepa but most of all you're with Jesus. Kevin and I were just talking about when you lived with us. Nothing but good memories of a baby, little boy and the man you became. I loved you from the moment you were born. I'll meet you by the river. Aunt Vetsie

God bless you and Dolly, Tom. We will miss you. Tom was a loyal and dedicated member of our ham radio club from the first day as well as the helping hand to those around Smithfield. Tom was a friend to all and his kind heart was clearly obvious. Peace.

To me, Tom was the quiet, silent type. When he would come to the Smithfield Post Office, we would strike up a small conversation about anything. Nice guy. This was a time before he retired. I am sure that in his retirement, he did not change his demeanor. Tom is the kind of guy you'd like to have as a neighbor. Now he is with Dolly and they are together again. Peace.

Tom was a friend and WT4RA brother. He always was there to lend a hand in our amateur radio group. He loved the hobby and also dedicated a lot of time to help the citizens of Smithfield in time of need by providing emergency services help during the time of need. He devoted a lot of time to our club in various capacities. He will be missed. R.I.P. Tom
