Tommy Joe “T.J.” Harrell, 74 of Cana, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Harrell was born in Mount Airy, NC to the late Joe and Alice Fulp Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Harrell; and siblings, Coy Harrell, Mary Ann Harrell and Robin Ann Crigger.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Tate Harrell; children, Patty Jones and husband, David and Tommy Lee Harrell and wife, Michele; grandchildren, Brandon Noonkester and wife, Kendra, Grace Hunt and husband, Kenny, Joseph Marsh, Beth Farmer and husband Brice, Tommy Harrell, Haley Harrell, Jasper Harrell, and Gavin Quesenberry; great-grandchildren, Eva Jo Hunt, Brylee and Bricen Farmer, Kyleigh Farmer, and Kenlynne Hunt; siblings, Johnny Harrell, Lisa Smith, and Brenda Burkhart; and eleven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrell Cemetery in Cana. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
