Tony Eugene Murrell, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1st, after a long fight with Alzheimers. He was a loving and compassionate man who gave his all as a husband and father. Happily married for 36 years, he leaves behind his wife, Monika Murrell and four daughters and their families, Casey and Jeff Jones, Carey Cooley, Christina and Jacob Bull, Cydney and Sawyer Martin, and ten grandchildren, Savannah, Noah, Emma, Elle, Jolee, Benjamin, Beckett, Lana, Everett, Millie, and one great grandchild, Malachi. A lifelong resident of Blount County, he grew up in the Rockford community, and was the youngest child of Eugene and Irene Murrell, with his older siblings, Jimmy Murrell, Carolyn Murrell, Bobby Murrell, and Janie Snyder. He was raised with laughter and love and knew the importance of family. Successful in business, many would know him from Murrell Tire, Henry's Auto Parts, and Murrell Recycling as he found a passion in the automotive Industry. He always had a kind smile and warm hug for every person he met. Having a deep love for the lord, he spent his days reaching out to the community expressing our lords grace and compassion and extending a helping hand to those who were in need. While he is no longer here with those who love him, his heavenly lord and savior will welcome him home with open arms. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing." Revelation 21:4. The family will receive friends, Friday, July 8,2022 from 5:00pm- 7:00pm at the Smith Trinity Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00pm. The family will then gather for a private graveside service. Smith Funeral & Cremation Service 865-983-1000 www.smithlifeandlegacy.com
