Tony Stone Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 15, 2025.
Tony Wayne Stone, born on May 29, 1957, in Sumpter, South Carolina, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Bedford, Texas. A beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many, Tony's life was marked by dedication-to his family, his country, and the things he loved most.

Tony is survived by his brother Troy Stone of Euless, TX.

Children: daughter Tracie Lynn Aldridge and her husband Jeremy Aldridge; son Dakota Wayne Stone and his fiancée Madelyn Boyce. He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Kodie Lynn Aldridge.

He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Somer, Skye, Amanda and Cole, Shane and Kate; along with great-nieces and nephews Saxie, Paislee, Brecken, Addisyn, Camden, Autry, and Jonesy.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Tal and Oneta Stone and his brother Tracy Alan Stone.

Tony was saved at Temple Drive Baptist Church and most recently attended Sheppard Drive Baptist Church under the leadership of Brother James Schoenrock.

Tony proudly served in the United States Army beginning in 1974. His service took him across the country and overseas to Mannheim, Germany. He was stationed at Fort Ord in California; Fort Sill in Oklahoma; Fort Dix in New Jersey; as well as locations in Florida and Philadelphia. His time in the military reflected his strong sense of duty and commitment. Following his military service, Tony built a career as a Transportation Dispatcher that spanned nearly four decades.

A man of many passions, Tony found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved country music-especially Dwight Yoakam's "Honky Tonk Man" and Marty Robbins' classic "El Paso." Tony loved the King of Rock n' Roll, Elvis Presley. Tony grew up in the rodeo scene and remained a devoted fan of PBR. He loved the fast pace of NASCAR & rooted for Tony Stewart. His favorite movies included "Top Gun" and "Tombstone," which he could watch time and again. He had a soft spot for classic television too-"The Andy Griffith Show" in particular.

He was known for enjoying a hearty meal (and plenty of snacks).

His favorite color was black-just like Johnny Cash-and it suited both his bold style and fearless spirit.

Honorary pallbearers include Cole Williamson, Shane Stone, Jeremy Aldridge, Robert Gregg, Keith Stone, Steve Pace, Shae Patterson, Richard Patterson, and Jr Gregg

Tony Wayne Stone's legacy lives on through those who knew him best-his family who loved him dearly and friends who will miss him always. His sense of humor & laughter with his brother's and Mad-Dawg (Madison Elder) were the best. May their memories bring comfort during this time of loss.
