Tony Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 6 to Jan. 10, 2014.
Tony Williams, 58, of Seymour passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Tony was born May 11, 1955, in Seymour, the son of the late Don Williams and Barbara (Stuckwisch) Williams.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. After graduating from Seymour High School in 1973, Tony went to work for Indiana Telephone Co. in Seymour. He stayed with the company as it changed to Con-Tel, GTE and then to Verizon Telephone Co. He retired from Verizon in 2009 after many years of service as a customer service representative.
Tony was a man who enjoyed life, had a great social life and enjoyed playing golf with his buddies at Shadowood. He liked the outdoors, spending time with his sons and cherished every moment with his grandchildren. He was very particular about his yard and looked forward to Thursdays, which was the day to mow the lawn.
On April 6, 1974, in Seymour, he married Margo Lynn Mundy.
He is survived by his wife, Margo; sons, Benjamin (Amber) Williams and Nicholas (Kelly) Williams; grandchildren, Zoe and London, and twins Taylor and Riley; brother, Jay Williams; sister, Linda (Joe) Roberts; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tammy Jo Williams.
A funeral memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Mark Huff officiating.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Burial will follow at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to the family, and memorials may be made to the Schneck Medical Center Foundation or Immanuel Lutheran Church through the funeral home.

As I sign this guestbook..I see Tony's picture and it's just so hard to believe that this has happened. We just had the best conversation a couple days before Christmas..he waited on me at the meat locker. So glad he was there. Our prayers and thoughts to his entire family and anyone that knew him...

I remember Tony and Linda from the summers of 1965-1967 when my parents and I would drive up to see my sister Pat Bode and her husband Jerry. So many fond memories of those days. I pray for God to bring you comfort and peace during this time of loss. I know he will be missed.

I am so sorry Margo and to your family and Linda and your family for your loss. I have known Tony all through school due to our last names we were always in the same class together and sat close to each other at Immanuel. Our family's also seemed to always set in the same section at church on Sundays when we were young. Tony had great parents. This was such a shock to everyone. He was a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
