Tracy Cui Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 29, 2017.
Tracy Xin Cui, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband at her side on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Tracy was born, Cui Xin, on Wednesday, May 23, 1951 in the Prefecture of Peng Lai, China, to Peiji Cui and Shuyuan Wang. She was the eldest of five; Tracy, Dejian, Dean, Dezhen, and Dekang.

Tracy lived in the Perfecture of Peng Lai with her father's mother, who was a highly regarded teacher, because of this Tracy was advanced in her studies for her age. Her family moved to the city of Qingdao, China at ten years old. Upon moving to Quingdao Tracy excelled in Primary School and graduated from the prestigious Quingdao First High School. She would later earn a degree in Industrial Management from the Chinese School of Telecommunications. In China, Tracy began her career as a Master Machinist, after earning her Industrial Management Degree, she moved into the role of Factory Manager, where she was named the Model Worker in Shandong Province. This award is considered a very high honor in China. In America she worked as a technician, machinist, and teacher.

Tracy moved to America in 1989. She changed her name from her Chinese name, Cui Xin, to Tracy, by converting Cui / Tra + Xin / cy = Tracy.

Tracy welcomed her first son, Calvin Ma, while living in China. After relocating to America she welcomed a second son, David Ma. She was a very proud mother and loved her two boys deeply. She met the love of her life while living in America, Richard Truhill, and on Saturday, October 25, 2008 the two married and made their home in Plano, Texas. The couple enjoyed life together. They welcomed a grandson, Eugene, and treasured being grandparents to him. Tracy and Richard recently celebrated their 9th anniversary before Tracy's untimely passing. Tracy felt comfortable and at home anywhere, but she especially enjoyed family. Her two sons were her world. She sponsored her mother, three brothers, sister, and their spouses and children to come to America so she could be close to them.

Tracy was well versed in Chinese Traditions, due do her lengthy upbringing in China, but she was also very much "Americanized," and enjoyed the blending of the two cultures with music, food, dress, etc.

Tracy is a Christian, having been baptized at The Church in Richardson, Texas. She later attended The Church in Plano, Texas, for many years. She often cared for the younger children during church service and especially loved watching over the babies. She had a deep belief and faith in Jesus Christ that went beyond her church membership. One of her favorite songs while performing in the Great Land Choral Society was He Never Failed Me Yet; and probably her most beloved song of all was Amazing Grace.

Tracy enjoyed reading and writing. She was a gifted orator and enjoyed teaching children. She loved to sing. She learned to play piano shortly before her passing. She enjoyed playing tennis, walking for relaxation, and even competed in the Senior Games, where she won several medals. She took pleasure in listening to all types of music, both Chinese and Western. She was an accomplished singer and performed for many years with the Great Land Coral Society in concert in several countries, including America, Mainland China, Taiwan, and Austria.

Tracy's memory will live on in the hearts of all she knew. She was very successful, accomplished, and well-known in China. In America she raised two sons and learned fluent English. She will be remembered as the nicest, friendliest, warmest, and most sincere person anyone has ever met. She loved and cared for everyone she met.

Tracy is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother (1993), father (1994), and youngest brother Dekang (2014).

Tracy will be treasured and loved by those who survive her; Husband, Richard Truhill; sons, Calvin Ma (Ting Guo) and David Ma; grandson, Eugene Ma, mother, Shuyuan Wang; brothers, Dejian Cui (Dianhong Yang) and Dean Cui (Sue Chen); and sister Dezhen Cui (Haidong Zhu) and many extended family and friends.

Our Eternal Lost
------- Recalling the life story of my beloved sister Tracy Cui
Dear friends and relatives, ladies and gentlemen,
Today, with feelings of deep sorrow, we come here to pay tribute and bid farewell to our loved one, Tracy Cui. At this very moment, I shall share her story with everyone here, and reflect with reverence and feel the love, warmth, thoughts and care that she had left behind.
Looking back on the years, my sister demonstrated her love, responsibility, dedication, hard work, perseverance and kindness in her 66-years of journey through life.
At the start of my sister's life story, we see a truly extraordinary person: in 1970 she graduated from Qingdao First High School to work in 1974, at the age of 23, she embarked on a leadership position, becoming a leader of young people in that era. In 1976, she was elected National Model Worker of the Ministry of Electronics Industry of the People's Republic of China and was invited to Beijing for cordial reception by state leaders. Subsequently, the Shandong Provincial Newspaper reported about her exemplary story in the front page article, "The Sharp Edged Blade Will Never Dull", which distributed her personal story to China. In 1980 she became the assistance factory manager of an electronic Tuner factory in Qingdao, China, with more than a thousand workers. My sister was a model worker that exemplified young people in China in the 1970s and 1980s, and she was often invited to share her know how to business schools and major government agencies. Her deeds and spirits have inspired countless young people to grow and become a leader in the new reform era in China.
Not long ago, my sister went to the Qingdao Municipal Archives to attend a media activity, where she saw the official collection of Tracy's still displayed there, she was shown to carefully tutoring two young workers how to operate a machine in a large photo. My Sister was very excited and immediately told me about this news; our family was deeply moved with pride and joy.
Dedication is the true meaning of life. On the land that gave birth to her, Tracy's legacy endures, though a journey of excellence, her youth and demeanor, dedication and love, have been permanently enshrined in history.
In 1989, after traveling thousands of miles, my cousin Tracy brought her one and only 10-year-old son Calvin to the United States. At this strange and fascinating land, she started up another life.
In this 28-year journey, Tracy built a new life with her hard work, love and wisdom. She brought up two sons Calvin and David and supported them though college and beyond. She had told me before her passing that her two sons had made her feel relieved and happy. Through David and Calvin Tracy's legacy lives on.
At the same time, my Cousin Tracy was also actively involved in community work, enthusiastic, her bold personality, warm smile, caring heart, warm and touching to everyone around her.
I remember when I first arrived here in the United States; Tracy not only took me personally to participate in local community gathering, but also taught me how to do shopping and many other details of life. She was always warm, thoughtful, careful, and I was deeply touched. While she was seriously ill, she was still optimistic and strong and personally took me to the two Chinese-language schools where she had worked and felt the long history of Chinese culture.
Tracy expressed deep passion for China, United States and everyone here. In my mind, she is a hero, a shining example of my life. Her kindness, her diligence, her calmness and courage in the face of illness inspired me; her attitude in times of difficulty, high moral value and unyielding will; and her sunshine and beautiful smile as bright as the sun and the moon, will always be with me.
Though you may have passed on, your spirit will forever be with us.
Here, please allow me to present our highest honor and deepest condolences and memory to our family on behalf of my husband, my nearly ninety-year-old father, my sister and my brothers, to our loved one and my dear cousin Tracy Cui.
Tracy, you are on the paradise road with flowers, sunshine and eternal joy, I hope your example can inspire us! Please rest in peace! Your life has become a part of our treasured memories, we will miss you forever!
God is with you! Our love will always be with you!
