Tracy Neil Matthews, III of Treadwell, New York died peacefully at his home on June 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Tracy is the son of the late Mr. Tracy Neil Matthews, Jr. of Delhi, New York, and the late Mrs. Frances Matthews Alt of Lookout Mountain, Georgia.

Tracy was born on October 30, 1953, in Delhi and relocated in 1974 to the Chattanooga area, working in the automobile industry and raising his beloved daughters Kristen and Jessica. In retirement, he returned where his heart led him, to Delaware County.

Tracy was preceded in death by his father, Tracy Neil Matthews, Jr.; his mother, Frances M. Alt; his sisters, Regina Christine Matthews Oehmig and Elizabeth Ann Matthews; his stepfather William T. Alt; father-in-law, David Sprague; and brother-in-law, Terry Davidson.

Matthews of Treadwell, New York; his daughters, Kristen (Carlos) Matthews Rivera, Cumming, Georgia and Jessica (Stanley Bryant) Matthews, Cleveland, Tennessee; his mother-in-law, Stella Sprague, Treadwell, New York; his sister, Barbara Matthews Law, Lookout Mountain, Tennessee; his brothers Stephen (Shawn) John Matthews, Wilmington, Delaware and Peter Redmond Matthews, Rome, Georgia.

Tracy leaves behind five cherished grandchildren; Isabella Rivera, Sophia Rivera, Lucas Rivera, Reese Bryant, and Kaylen Bryant. Also, several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29th at 11:00 AM at the Treadwell Methodist Church, followed by a luncheon. A private interment will follow.

Cheryl - I remember both of you as teenagers in High School - the Cheerleader and the Sportsman! He was such a cut up. I know your loss is great and you are navigating the best you can. Please cherish all those special moment/times/years let them warm your aching heart. They won´t take the pain of loss away but maybe bring some warmth to your heart and a smile through your tears. Thinking of you and your family. Hugs - Joanni Sturmer Anderson
