We say good bye for now to Trent Barry Bright who passed away in West Bountiful, Utah October 18, 2012. Trent was born July 31, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Barry H. Bright and Donna Seely Bright. Although Trent's life was short it was filled with laughter and music. He loved a good joke and told jokes better than anyone. He had a wry sense of humor and in every situation was the one who made everybody laugh. Trent loved good music. He had a beautiful singing voice and his family loved to hear him sing. He enjoyed listening to music of all kinds and was a talented piano player. Trent graduated from BYU with a BA in Theater Arts and belonged to the Young Ambassadors where he developed many lifelong friendships. He then obtained a Masters Degree from the University of California Irvine. Trent lived many years in New York City pursuing his dreams and acting career and felt fortunate to perform in several Off-Broadway productions. Musical Theater was in his blood and was truly his passion. He taught at the Salt Lake Academy for the Performing Arts for the 2011-2012 school year. From the time Trent was a little boy he loved animals of all kinds, from the common pets such as dogs and guinea pigs to the not so ordinary kinds of pets such as skunks and raccoons. Trent was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and fulfilled a mission to the Belgium, Brussels Mission.
Trent is survived by his Mother, Donna Seely Bright Linford (Golden), his sister Beki Alder (Mark) and brother Tai Bright (Vickie) and his nieces, Jesica, Abby, Tarisa, Kelci, Lakyn, Hannah and nephews Dannon and Zac and his dog Jackpot.
"Parting is such sweet sorrow." We love you and will miss you dearly until we meet again.

I know it's been a long time since Trent passed, but I wanted to leave you with my memories of him. Trent and I acted together at BYU, and we both submitted our mission papers at the same time and ended up in the MTC, both French speaking, in classrooms next door to each other. Trent was a good friend and my daughters have heard a lot about him over the years. He was a wonderful human being, oozing with talent and personality! <3

It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.

And although it may seem hard right now,it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.

As a fellow Allstate Agent, I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. God Bless.

I think the first time I saw Trent was as Nathan Detroit with Steve Poulen and Lamar Evans in the Madison Little theatre. I was so impressed at his talent. Later in How to Succeed... Wow! I was glad to call him my friend and will never forget the trio we took with Susan McMurray to LA to go to Disneyland, Seaworld in San Diego, and Little Shop of Horrors with the NY cast in LA. We teased Trent saying he had the bladder the size of a peanut because Susan and I had to stop at every rest area and he never had to go!! I will always cherish our friendship. Doyle Jenkins

Beloved colleague and fellow singer at CSFB in NYC. I can still see his smile. Trent shared so much about his vocal techniques and his excitement about working with his vocal teacher. He was an inspiration and taught me so many things about life, confidence and team work. Blessings to all who love him and miss him. Blessings to Trent on his new journey.

Trent was one of my supervisors at Credit Suisse for a number of years, starting in 1999 until he left NYC. Despite the fact that our staff was at an investment bank, it was composed largely of artists (Trent, of course, included...I am so thankful to finally get to hear his lovely voice via the Facebook tribute page, as I never had the chance in the corporate setting!). We were quite a "family" and went through a lot together over the years. I knew him to be a kind, patient, smart man who always treated others with respect and dignity. I am better off for having known him and am deeply saddened for your loss. Our family will be praying for yours through these days of what must be tremendous grief.
