Trevor Stewart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 16, 2024.
Trevor Michael Stewart, born on April 15th, 1994, passed away unexpectedly on March 7th, 2024. He was 29 years old. He is survived by his wife, Kayla, his daughter Norah, his parents James and Janis Stewart, his siblings Mandy Stewart, Tristan Stewart, Elizabeth Kuzmic, Mackenzie Stewart and Nolan Stewart, and his grandmothers Patricia Lents and Lynette Stewart.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Trevor grew up in an Air Force family and lived in Texas, Virginia and the United Kingdom as a child. The Stewarts moved to Kerrville when Trevor was 12, where he attended Ingram Middle School and Ingram Tom Moore High School.

Ever since he was little, Trevor had a flair for the dramatic, participating in children's theater in England, and becoming an active member of the Hill Country Children's Theater alongside his siblings after moving to Kerrville. He went on to perform in various productions at the Cailloux and Point Theatre, including Beauty and the Beast, Buddy Holly, Cats, Sleeping Beauty, Tigers Be Still, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. In 2015, Trevor met Kayla Underhill at the Point Theatre on the set of 2 by 5, where Kayla was helping with costuming.

Trevor and Kayla married in 2018, and along with their daughter, Norah, German Shepherd Ripley and cat Rigby, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 2021. While there, Trevor began studying English at CSU, building on his lifetime love of theater, literature, and movies. He spent his spare time playing board games and hiking with his family, undeterred by Colorado's mid-afternoon hailstorms.

Trevor loved learning new skills, and over the years he picked up a wealth of hobbies. Whether it was playing the guitar, cycling around the Texas Hill Country, smoking meat, baking bread, making fancy cocktails or teaching himself film photography, Trevor was always eager to create beautiful things.

Trevor felt and loved deeply. He was a silly and creative soul, a loving husband and father, and a beloved son and brother. His sudden loss is a surprise and a shock to his family, who will miss him dearly.

In their wedding ceremony, Trevor and Kayla incorporated references from The Princess Bride, a film that Trevor and his family grew up watching and quoting. So it's fitting to dedicate the following to Trevor, on behalf of all those who loved him: "Death cannot stop true love. It can only delay it for a while."

A casual celebration of life for Trevor will be held at the Point Theatre on Wednesday, March 20th, from 3pm to 5pm. Flowers can be sent to:

The Theatre Building

120 Point Theatre Rd S

Ingram, Texas, 78025

Alternatively, we would appreciate donations to the Hill Country Arts Foundation or the Humane Society of Kerrville on Trevor's behalf.

I was so very sad to hear about Trevor's passing. He was one of my students in French class last semester, and he was a joy to have in class. I'm thinking about his family and friends and holding you in my heart.

I only had the opportunity to work with him a couple of times, but I really enjoyed sharing the stage with him. Very talented and energetic. Photo from a rehearsal of Macbeth in 2014.
