Trichelle Samani Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 6, 2007.
Trichelle and
‘Etikeni Samani
Trichelle Valgardson Samani and ‘Etikeni Samani of Provo were tragically taken from us in an unforeseen accident on Monday, September 3, 2007.

Trichelle was born in Provo, Utah March 20, 1986 to David and Michelle Valgardson of Provo, Utah. She is the only sister of Joshua (Ashley) Valgardson, nephew Andrew Valgardson, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Jeremy (Rachel) Valgardson of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Kyle Valgardson and Tyler Valgardson of Provo, Utah; and the granddaughter of Ardis Rowley of Provo, Utah.Trichelle was raised in Provo and graduated from Provo High School where she played basketball, softball, volleyball and “powder puff” football. Her favorite, of course, being basketball. Her love of sport did not end there. She has had major knee surgery, but that did not stop her from doing what she loved. She continued to play basketball and softball with her friends and family until the end. She loved life to the fullest. She has so many friends, too many to name, and she was always there when you needed her. She was enrolled at Utah Valley University, scheduled to graduate with a degree in accounting in 2009. She was employed at BJ Plumbing, a job she loved due to the friends she made there. Trichelle has a very strong love for the Savior which showed in all that she did. She was currently serving as a primary teacher in her ward. She also loved working with the youth. She always felt like she was one of the girls and loved to be around them. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and for the love she showed to everyone. Trichelle will be missed by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins who all loved her dearly. She joins those who have gone before her: Grandpa Paul and Grandma Florence Valgardson, Grandpa Revo Rowley, Aunts Mary Valgardson McEuen and Sarah Valgardson.

‘Etikeni was born in Vava’u, Tonga April 26, 1985 to Totauola and Talite Samani of Provo, Utah. He is the brother of Viliami T. Samani, Ikani T. Samani, Nolan R.T. Samani, Weston T. Samani, Silongo T. Samani and Martha T. Samani, all of Provo, Utah and the grandson of Kafea Sungalu and Lea’aepine Lavulavu of Provo, Utah. When ‘Eti was three years old his family moved to Utah from Tonga. He went to Franklin Elementary, Dixon Middle School and Provo High School. He played football while at Provo High and after graduation at Snow College. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and served in the California Oakland Mission. ‘Etikeni is so special for everything he did for our family. He was a hard worker, laying concrete with his Dad and working for Valgardson House Movers. He, like Trichelle, had a very strong love for the Savior. He worked with the youth at the time of his passing. He loved them all very much. He was very kind and spoke to them with dignity and respect; always encouraging them to do their best.

‘Eti and Trichelle were married for time and all eternity in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on July 22, 2006. Their love for each other was apparent to anyone who knew them. God speed, Trichelle and ‘Eti, until we meet again. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Provo Utah Wasatch (Tongan) Stake Center, 1625 South Slate Canyon Drive, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 7-10 p.m. and Saturday from 8-9:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].

I went to school and worked with both these great people through their sports as I was a student athletic trainer at Provo High. I also went to school and have known Eti's brother, Ikani, since we were both in the 5th grade. I just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss and how even though it may be painful at this time, it shall be for "just a moment".

Dear Samani and Valgardson Families,
I had the opportunity of teaching both of these fine people in 9th grade at Provo High. They were both so full of life with such fun personalities. I am so sorry to hear of the loss you have suffered. May God be with you as you go through this most difficult time and until you meet again.

Eti & Trichelle

Words cannot express what I feel in my heart for these two. I literally grew up with these two beautiful human beings. I've known eti since primary and trichelle since junior high. I am in new zealand now and to hear of the tragedy that has occured saddens me deeply.Over the two days that I've taken off to think of these two I've come to know that only the lord knows whats in store for eti and trichelle. I was not able to be there to give my love to both families but I hope and pray that they both feel my love and support. I remember my sophmore year when eti and I traded backpacks and even though he had a cheap one and I had the expensive Jan Sport one we managed to switch backpacks that whole year. I remember trichelle at my first basketball tryout and how she would joke around with me about how I had no basketball shorts so I had to try out in my tight jeans..lol... They both made me laugh and now they've both made me cry, but we are so blessed to know that heavenly father loves us and these trials are given to us so that we can overcome them become stronger people because of it. These two were true leaders and great examples that we should always remember. over here in new zealand its temple week, there are many people here who are praying for everyone out there who is dealing with this, brothers and sisters we must endure to the end. I love you all so very much and miss everyone so dearly I wish I could wrap my arms around all my friends and families who are having a hard time with this. I love you guys!!!

Dear David and Michelle,
It has been a long time since we have seen you, but I frequently think of all the good times we had growing up together! I had no idea about your beautiful daughter and her husband. I learned from my Dad today about this horrible tragedy. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you and that I pray for peace in your heart. I know that the Lord loves us and cares for us. I will never understand a tragedy such as this.
Please know that we will be thinking and praying for you and your extended families. I love ya forever.

There is nothing that anyone can say without the spirit of the Lord that can bring you peace at this time. From experience, I know that though this time is the most difficult a parent or sibling will ever go through alone, together, as a couple and a family, with the Lord by your side, there can be peace, calm and comfort.
Pray, pause and listen, He does not expect you to go through this loss alone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. May you find comfort in the arms of each other and in His arms.

I went to school from elementary school on with Trichelle and was friends with Eti at Provo High. They were both amazing people that had many friends. I've never heard a bad thing said about either of them. I hope their families can be consoled that they are at least together still. Much love and sympathy.

David & Michelle,

I was hoping to talk to you tonight, Friday, Sept 7, at the service to personally express my sympathies to you, but there so many people there! It was amazing to see the love that all those hundreds of people had for you, your daughter, and son-in-law.

With my own mother's passing last month, I have felt assured that she is with my father and brother, and is happy. We have the hope, too, that Trichelle and Eti are happy and will be able to make this eternal journey together with each other, although their time on earth was so short. They must have been a couple of pretty special people.

To
the families of these wonderful people,
I am very sorry for the loss of your dear loved ones. They were both
very sweet and caring people. Although I was never extremely close to
either, through Provo High, they had a way of making people feel loved
and special. My fondest memories of Trichelle were in middle school in
P.E. class. She was such a great athlete and played with such a spirit
of fairness to all. She truely has a place in my heart and is in my
memories. Words can never make the family heal but only the help of the
Lord. I pray for your family that peace may be in your hearts.

My prayers and faith are for your comfort at this time of loss. I was one of two people first on the scene and wanted nothing more than to help Eti and Trichelle. I tried the best I knew how and I am sorry that I was incapable of helping them remain on this earth. But please know, that at the time of the accident, and every day since, I have felt a love for those two. I don't know what to say, other than, I loved your son and daughter and tried my best. You are in the deepest prayers of my heart.

Their obituary was very touching and has brought me a much needed peace. I too echo your farewell, "God's speed, Trichelle and Eti, until we meet again".

David & Michelle,

I cannot tell you how our hearts are broken for you at this time! We love you and have been praying for your comfort at this trying and difficult time.

While this tragic accident seems so random and senseless, we pray that, in time, you will see the Lord's purposes and love in all of our difficulties and trials. I was so honored and touched to have Michelle come to my mother's viewing last month and I pray that you experience the same comfort and support I felt from you at that time.

While my experience was very different (with my Mom having lived a full life and was prepared and even anxious to pass through the veil), I hope you can feel the same joy I did when, instead of reflecting on what I will be missing in my life going forward, but rather look with gratitude and joy on the blessings that Trichelle and Etikeni have already brought you both.

Don't ever forget: We love you and cherish our friendship forever!

I am so deeply saddened by your loss. When I heard this morning, I could not believe it. It gives us that gentle reminder that life is short, to always remeber to tell those in our lives we love them. To lose a child in such manner is a trajedy, but to know she went right to our father in heaven's arms, with our family members right behind him. That pain of losing a child is so great, as I can attest. Take solace in our heavenly father. You all have many family and friends that love you and will bolster you through this time of need. We will all return to one another some day, until then know my heart aches for your loss, but is also very comforted by knowing the plan of salvation and eternal life. I love each of you, and our family wishes you all the best.
