Troy Adams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 22, 2013.
Troy Adams passed away at his home of heart failure on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at age 62. Beloved husband of Claudine Adams. Loving father of Etienne Adams. Brother of George Adams of Trumbull, CT and Eunice Lisk of Stratford, CT. Brother-in-law of Pierre Falandry of Nice, France. Uncle of Kelsey and Matthew Lisk of Stratford, CT, and Alizee and Guillaume Falandry, of Nice, France. Son of the late James and Lou Ella Adams. A graduate of LSU and UNO, Mr. Adams was a math teacher at Xavier Prep and St. Philip of Neri. Then he worked with the Orleans Parish School Board including Ben Franklin High School and Audubon Montessori. Anyone who knew Troy would describe him as a genuinely nice guy with a passion for life, his family, the outdoors, music, people and teaching. He had a special communion with nature and people. On his daily walks in New Orleans or on the beach in Stratford, he would chat with the friendly people he would meet and make a new friend each time! He started composing folk songs in high school. As a performer, he would play at the Neutral Ground Coffee House in New Orleans. Retired since 2010, he was focusing on his role as a father for his son, Etienne. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2013 at 6:00 PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Etienne's college fund through J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, and for any further information please email '[email protected]'. To view and sign the guest book, visit www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
