RHOADESVILLE, Va. – Trula B. Short, age 78, passed away Monday, June 18, 2007, in a Culpeper, Va., health care facility.
Born May 31, 1929, in Buchanan County, Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Ollie Harmon Shortridge.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Beve Short, one son, Donnie Short, two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Bennie Short Sr. and wife Edna of Rhoadesville and Ronnie Short of Warrenton; three brothers, Chester Shortridge of Pounding Mill, Junior Shortridge and wife Mary and Harold Shortridge and wife Georgie, both of Castlewood; three sisters, Dorothy Hale and husband Thurmond of Columbia, S.C., Nellie Hall of Meadowview and Shirley Compton and husband Don of Manassas; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, with the Rev. Billy Vandyke and the Rev. Arvil Arwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
Pallbearers will be Doug Williams, Lee Chambers, Ralph Keen, Ray Keen, Tommy Rust and Steven Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Shortridge, Paul Dean Shortridge, Dwayne Hess, Brad Hall, Jeff Wilson, Ricky Shortridge and John Paul Shortridge.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff.
