Tyler Sherman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 28, 2019.
Tyler Jeffrey Sherman, of Lewisville, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. He was born March 25, 1997 in Laguna Niguel, California to Eileen Ann and Jeffrey Sherman. He would later welcome two brothers, Matthew on December 29, 1998 and Andrew on May 19, 2003.

Tyler started his childhood in Laguna Niguel, California. He was a wonderful child and loved being outside playing in the year round beautiful weather of Southern California. He rode his bike, played Legos and Hotwheels in the family garage, and he enjoyed hanging out with his best friend, Keaton, who lived next door. One of his most loved activities was going to the beach. Mom, Dad, and Tyler would dig a big hole in the sand and Tyler could play for hours at the beach. Some of Tyler's parents' most cherished memories are the family having five or six people staying in their hotel room in Dana Point and Tyler, his brothers, and cousins waking up and spending the entire day at the beach. When the Sherman family would go to the beach during the summer, Tyler could spend 7 or 8 hours in the water. He did not ever want to get out. He loved hanging out with his cousins.

Tyler and his family moved to Texas as he was entering the first grade. He made lifelong friends at Prince of Peace Catholic School and Church. From seventh to ninth grade, Tyler and his family lived in Nashville, Tennessee. When he got older the family would go to Colorado every year for Spring Skiing. When he was around 11, he switched to snowboarding and fell in love with the sport. Tyler graduated from John Paul II High School in 2015.

Tyler had a lot of passion for the things he loved and enjoyed in life. His musical interests included Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, The Talking Heads, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynrd – who he named his black lab after. He loved comedies including Curb Your Enthusiasm. He loved riding waves in the ocean, hiking in the mountains, skateboarding, and fishing. Tyler gained a new passion over the last few years, Snowboarding, he couldn't get enough of the sport. He was happiest in the ocean and on a mountain.

Tyler had one more love and it was his greatest love of all, his longtime girlfriend and soul mate, Alexa Solis. They met in 5th grade and became close friends when Tyler moved back to Texas from Nashville. Junior year of high school they started dating and had so many fun, adventurous memories together. She is part of the Sherman family and they will love her always and cherish the joy she brought to Tyler.

Tyler's family and friends will remember him as a free spirit that danced to the beat of his own drum. He would have been very comfortable growing up the 60s with his tie-dye shirts and Bod Dylan and Grateful Dead Music. Tyler lived for today. He enjoyed each day and was always thinking about his next adventure. He did not worry about tomorrow. Tyler also had a big smile and a big heart. He loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. He traveled around the United States and internationally and loved going to new places.

Tyler is survived by: mother, Eileen Ann Sherman; father, Jeffrey Sherman; brothers, Matthew Sherman 20 years, and Andrew Sherman 15 years; girlfriend Alexa Solis, and his beloved fur-babies Lynyrd and Kramer.
