Ugo NICASTRO Obituary
Co-owner of Nicastro Bros. Foods
Passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at May Court Hospice, while surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday April 1, 2015 on the Feast Day of Saint Hugo. Beloved husband of Carmela (Nee Milito). Loving father of Irma (Oscar Finizia), Pasquale (Sarah Rose), Franco (Maria Utano), Piero (Melissa Smith), Giuseppina (Massimiliano Pica). Most cherished Nonno of Erminia (Ronal), Carmelina (Sebastian), Marie-Alysa, Abby, Hugo, Nicole, Brandon, Gianluca, Dante, Alessea, Roman and Olivia. Proud great-Nonno of baby Miguel. Son of the late Pasquale and Irma Nicastro and son-in-law of the late Carlo and Maria Milito. Dearly missed by many siblings, brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and by all who knew him in Canada and Italy. In December 1963, Ugo and his wife with three young children left his hometown of Cleto, Italy to immigrate to Canada to provide a better life for his family. They arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and settled in Ottawa with his family where he and his wife extended their family with two more children. Ugo had a passion for gardening, wine making and sausage making. The family wishes to thank Dr. Louise Coulombe and the staff at May Court Hospice for their care, compassion and support.
