Thank you for the privilege of sharing in this sacred time with your family in the passing of a truly amazing man, your husband, father and grandfather. My life has been enriched by knowing “The Professor” for such a brief time. You truly are a very special family. May God richly bless you.

"I share with you the agony of your grief,

The anguish of your heart finds echo in my own.

I know I cannot enter all you feel

Nor bear with you the burden of your pain;

I can but offer what my love does give:

The strength of caring,

The warmth of one who seeks to understand

The silent storm-swept barrenness of so great a loss.

This I do in quiet ways,

That on your lonely path

You may not walk alone."

I was so sad to hear of Dr. Eyck's passing. He was a dear, sweet man who always made a point of saying something nice whenever he came into the office. His presence will forever be felt around the department. He will be missed.
