Una Louise Morgan Palfreyman

Una Louise Morgan Palfreyman, age 89, of Springville, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004. She was born July 9, 1915, in Kimberly, Idaho, to Moroni David and Mary Permelia Morrill Morgan. She married Lorus Masters Palfreyman on January 11, 1942, in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.


Una was raised on the family farm in Kimberly, Idaho. After graduating from high school, she went to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to earn her RN degree and then went to Chicago, Illinois, to specialize. Una worked as a nurse until she married in 1942; and, for the rest of her life, she continued assisting neighbors, friends, and relatives with her nursing skills.


She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister, always meeting needs in her quiet way. Her favorite place was her home, taking care of her flowers and garden. She loved having family, friends, and neighbors come to visit.


Una served an LDS Mission with her husband in the San Jose, California area in 1979-1980, and they also spent many hours together serving in the temple. Her favorite church calling was working in the ward library, which she did for many years. She was a faithful visiting teacher throughout her life.


She is survived by one daughter and four sons: Sandra (Leland) Coleman of Highland, UT; David (Kathleen) of Boise, ID: Robert (Neta) of Orem, UT; Brent (Julie) of South Jordan, UT; Terry (ReneŽ) of Mesa, AZ; 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorus, on March 1, 1995.


Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 2004, at Noon, in the Center Street LDS Chapel, 355 East Center, in Springville, Utah. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville; and, Monday, at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
