January 31, 1932 - December 23, 2014
Una, beloved wife of Matt Wallace, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the age of 82. Born in McCord, Saskatchewan in 1932, she completed High School in Medicine Hat and moved to Calgary in 1956. Una and Matt celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary in August 2014 and one of the great joys they shared was their interest in flowers and gardening. Una devoted her life to her family and cherished her large extended family as she was the youngest of seven siblings who have all predeceased her. Her spirit and positive outlook carried her through many health challenges. She is survived by her husband Matt, who has cared for her tirelessly, and their three children and five grandchildren all living in Calgary: Kevin (Cindy) and their sons Jason and Ryan; Ronda (Jim Langbein); Trevor (Suzanne) and their sons Tyler, Jake, and Wade. Una will be greatly missed by her devoted husband and family. A special thanks to the compassionate caregivers on the 4th Floor at the Bethany Care Centre. Keeping with Una's wishes, a Service for family and close friends in Celebration of Una's Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Crohn's & Colitis Canada.
