Ursula Baker, 69, of Ventura, our beloved mother, Gaga, and friend passed away at home on Sunday, March 24, 2013, with her family by her side. Ursula, also known as "Ozie", was born in West Germany on March 19, 1944 to Richard and Charlotte Roestel. Ursula came to the United States with her mother in 1956 at the age of 12. She began working at the age of 24, with her final employment at DowKey Microwave. Ursula planned to retire at the end of this year.
Ozie was fortunate to have been loved by her husband of 25 years, Carl H. Baker, who passed away in 1989, as well as 24 years with "the love of her life" Harold D. Cooksey, who passed away in 2012.
Ursula is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Ostrout of Ventura; son, Bob Cooksey of Ventura; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Jennie Cooksey of Ventura; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Roy Beyeler of Bakersfield; and daughter-in-law, Jana Baker Cooksey of Ventura; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jason, Nathan, Christina, Charisma, Chelsea, Karyssa, Kiefer, Craig, Mackenzie and Madison; three great grandchildren, Dominik, Ryder, and Kingston; as well as many other beloved family members and close friends who were considered to be family.
Those fortunate enough to know Ozie were blessed with the love of a special woman full of life and laughter, always ready to sing and dance. She had a deep love for her family and friends, and will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
"We love you, Gaga, and you will always be our sunshine."
A visitation for Ursula will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, in Ventura.
Funeral services will also take place at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Jason Freehauf officiating. Burial will follow at the Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, in Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com.

Gaga was such a wonderful lady and could light up the room when she walked in. She loved the family so much and talked about how proud she was to share in family actives. Gaga always treated us like part of the family and we are grateful to have shared her love. Thoughts and prayers are with you. We are just a phone call away. Love you!

My Aunt Ozie, I love you so much. I don't know if you remember this, but I the day after we just moved to Ventura and I just started a new school. I was feeling very insecure and lonely. After school I walked into your house and you said to me, "Wow, Holly, you look beautiful." I felt so good. Every day afer tha I wanted to look beautiful just like you did. You always had your hair done and make-up on, even the last day I saw you.
Thank you Aunt Ozie for giving me jobs around your house and allowing me to run errands for you. I love your lists. Thank you for helping me feel welcomed in Ventura. I will always love you.

Lisa,
As the days and weeks pass, and as you and your family return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I often think about my parents and I know they will watch over us until we all meet again. Give my love to your family for we are very blessed to have them with us forever.

Lisa, my condolences to you and your family, from me, Fred and the Velasco family who have been your neighbors since we were both young children. I have very fond memories of playing hide and seek and kick ball near your house and the Medrano house. Your mom and dad were wonderful people. You and your mom were always really nice to my parents and were great neighbors. She really was a special person. God bless you and give you strength.

To the family of Ursula..
Ursula and I go way back to the days of Burroughs Corp. That was 1977-1980. She was a laugh a minute and very dear to me. I again met up with Ursula t ESL. in Ventura, and again a joy. I'm sorry to hear of her passing, but just having known such a wonderful person, make me smile knowing that she is in a much better place, smiling down on all of us.
God Bless,
Kent Madison

I have many wonderful memories of Osi, going back to about 1959. We did a lot of double dating, Osi with Carl and me with Carl's cousin Bonnie. We were very close until I married and moved to Oregon upon separation from the Corps in 1966. We remained great friends even though many miles apart. I recall vacation visits up until just a few years ago. Always a special time when we could see Osi and Carl, and later Harold. And now Osi will hold a special place in my memories. I wonder how she is handling being with both Harold and Carl. Knowing Osi as I do I'll bet she is having a great time.
