Valentin "Ricky" Rodriguez III

VALENTIN RODRIGUEZ III (July 17, 1985 - April 3, 2023) the beloved son of Valentin Rodriguez Jr. and Therese A. Foley in addition to stepmother Kristin E. Rodriguez. He was more commonly known as "Ricky". He spent many of his formative years in West Reading, a borough in which his paternal grandfather and namesake had re-settled from Puerto Rico decades earlier. Attending Sacred Heart Elementary School, he would later graduate from Collingswood High School in New Jersey while living with his maternal grandparents. Ricky's affinity with nature and the outdoors inspired him to venture into the vocation of landscaping, where he worked as a Crew Leader for Southern Botanica in Dallas, Texas. The Covid-19 Pandemic, however, impelled him to return to his family's home in Wyomissing, PA, where he was most recently employed as a custodian by the Wyomissing Area School District. Charismatic, dashing yet humble, unmistakably kind-hearted, inquisitive and genuine, Ricky was naturally enabled to develop meaningful friendships wherever his travels led him. He was a source of friendship, entertainment, conversation and consolation for his circle of friends and family. His trout-fishing, beach-going and cat-parenting adventures, his ability to poke fun at the trivially absurd, his facility for making his own way in different parts of the country, his mental acuity and fundamental likability, generated countless memories for those that knew him. The myriad of life experiences he garnered in his short time provided humorous anecdotes that amused those with whom he engaged. His siblings and cousins recall the merriment cultivated by the occasional rambunctious high-jinks of which he was capable.Though his hobbies and undertakings were many and varied, it would seem, that most deep in his affections, were those Ricky leaves behind. In addition to his aforementioned parents, he is survived by three younger siblings: Steven Dakota Rodriguez, Sierra Maria Rodriguez, and Andres Marcus Rodriguez.

An open house memorial service for Valentin "Ricky" Rodriguez III will be held April 16, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Stone House (located at 1216 Parkside Dr North, Wyomissing, PA 19610).
