Valerie Lynn Bowers

Valerie Lynn Bowers, 60, of Washington, Pa., passed away on June 27, 2010, in the home of her father in Fallowfield Township. She was born on Sept. 27, 1949, in North Charleroi, daughter of Edward G. Calcek, who survives, and the late Helen Salko Calcek. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Washington, and was a self-employed bookkeeper. Valerie is survived by her husband, Carl Wayne Bowers; two sons, Carl W.( Sherri) Bowers Jr., of Cecil, and Matthew Scott (Tara) Bowers, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mary Kay Beckley, of Fallowfield Township, Deborah Ann (Don) Danterm of Elizabeth Township; and one brother, Edward G. Calcek Jr., of Fallowfield Township. She was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Harley. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave. Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 30, at 10:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi.
